  • Taken in London EC3 COLOUR PORTFOLIO IN THE MOMENT – PHOTOJOURNALISM URBAN DECOR ARCHITECTURAL MOTHER NATURE SUBLIME GRIME PORTRAITURE

  • Urban cityscape as viewed from the observation deck of the Shinjuku government tower (the south one, I think) in Tokyo, Japan. (Admission is free to both towers’ observation decks, so if you’re ever in Shinjuku, bear that in mind. Bear in mind also that your chances of the weather being clear enough to see Mt Fuji are cripplingly small. I certainly didn’t see it!) Anyway, back to the shot: I like it, it’s pretty cool, and I just adore Tokyo; but I was really, REALLY surprised when it won the October pentaxforums forum challenge poll, for the theme : “Cityscape” 8)) So in that regard, I guess it is the most ‘popular’ photo I’ve taken, as well as one I like!

  • I wanted to create an image that evoked a sense of scale and grandeur. Inspired by the great epic Sci-fi artists.

  • A street photography shot taken in East London 2007. I went back there recently and this image has been completely painted over. I’m glad I was able to capture what was a brief yet beautiful scene that has now gone forever

  • I love the feel of this Frangipani shot. Different, unusual, talking point. What photography, art should be. Paul red bubble Lyman Frank Baum fine art photography / macro photography

  • Angled shot taken inside the Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool. Really enjoy finding new angles and views within this building and its a great place to practice my photography. / . / Spent a lot of time with the position and cropping of this image to produce the desired look. / . / Your comments always help. / . / ste / . / Location: The Lady Chapel / . / The first part of the Cathedral to be completed and consecrated for worship was the Lady Chapel. The style of this lovely Chapel, which stands at the far south east corner of the Cathedral, is more elaborate than the main body of the Cathedral in a way which reflects its date and the influence of G F Bodley who was, at that time, working with the Cathedral architect.

  • TOBY AND TABATHA IN THE TINY CITY Toby and Tabatha were taking an early morning walk one summer’s day, when they chanced upon a tiny city, built on the outskirts of their town. While Tabatha peered over one of the castellated walls of the city, Toby leaped over it and sat happily on a cobbled street to gather his thoughts for while. The two cats felt they had been transported into another era. The few people they saw on the street were tiny and dressed in Victorian costume. A soldier courageously stood guard close to where Toby sat. Slightly past the soldier, a well-dressed lady had stopped for a moment, apparently lost in thought. Neither of the characters appeared to be in the least perturbed by Toby and Tabatha, which puzzled the two friends. Of course, what you may have guessed, but they have yet to work out, is that our two feline friends had wandered into the town’s brand new model village; not yet open to the public. Won’t Toby and Tabatha get a surprise when Mr. Grimshaw the Park Attendant arrives at nine o’clock to start his day’s work? They will actually get a big shock when they discover that Mr. Grimshaw, a grumpy man at the best of times, has an intense dislike of cats, however cute and fluffy they may be …. • I was walking around Omotesando and Harajuku to kill some time before meeting a friend the other night and found this patch of cosmos flowers. Planted out in the street, behind them were the lights of a shop and a vending machine was providing some light from my side. Just beautiful. Got mesmerised for a good fifteen minutes by these flowers. Nikon D300 / 85mm f/1.4 AF D

  • Nevada City is an amazing place, but you have to be there early to get the place to yourself ! We got lucky, it was ‘off’ season and consequently very quiet , combined with a beautiful morning. / There were so many things to photograph, you could spend a whole lot of time there, but we were headed for Yellowstone, so time was limited sadly. Along with Bodie, California, this is a place I would happily return to time and time again …....... if only !! Shot on a Canon EOS 40D, polarising filter attached, and mounted on a tripod. Canon 18-55mm kit lens / f22, 1/10 sec, underexposed by half a stop, iso 100. Cloudy WB. / I processed a single RAW file in Photomatix, HDR. Then processed in Adobe Camera RAW, then Ortoned it in PS CS3, adjusting Curves/levels, selective colour, etc., plus a bit of dodging and burning. / FEATURED IN / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/your-magic-places / AND / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/dslr-users-only-3-a-day / AND / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/rebel-group / AND / http://www.redbubble.com/happy-haven / AND / http://www.redbubble.com/groups/unlimited-quality

  • The last day of a wonderful trip around Spain, this was the view back to the holiday let we’d booked, every evening we travel back to the villa and in between the trees there was this view. I hoped at one point during our trip that I’d take a shot when the light or timing light was right the unfortunately it never seemed to be right. On the last night, on our way back to the airport we got a puncture and had to stop in a lay by for hours, as there was no spare tyre and the nearest breakdown truck 4 hours away! Had we not had to wait I wouldn’t have have got this shot. I hope you like it. Greeting Cards / Framed Print / Canon 10D, 70-200mm at 200mm, f/22, 1/250 sec, ISO 100. Handheld shot from a car door.
