  • This was taken on a kayaking trip in Milford Sound, Piopiotahi, South Island, New Zealand. The natural beauty is absolutely breathtaking here. We were lucky enough to be greated with a small pod of dolphins, but didn’t have the camera out at that stage.

  • And the little Te Anau fairy raised the bark off the top of her hideaway and peered out into the wilderness, waiting…. waiting…. who was making those thumping noises on my roof? Is it safe?

  • Te Anau, New Zealand I was lucky enough to spend my honeymoon in New Zealand, touring around in a campervan. Whilst at Te Anau, I woke early one morning and took a stroll down to the lake, to find it totally shrouded in mist, floating quietly about 1 metre above the surface of the water. It seemed like I was the only person in the whole world for about half an hour or so, except for this little man just going about his business (but in a respectfully quiet fashion!). • Te Anau, South Island, New Zealand Taken the same morning as Misty Morning Moments – just another shot which I think captures the magic and the stillness of the lake mist. Other New Zealand pics Other water pics Other sky pics Other landscape pics

  • Te Anau is a small town next to a large lake in Southern New Zealand. This icy sunrise was beautiful, the mist rising off the lake, snow capped mountains and a setting moon. The red boat was just in the right place for contrast. / Nikon D300, 18-200mm lens at 18mm / 1/640s F/3.5

  • Lake te anau at sunrise, Te Anau, New Zealand.

  • Another example of the beautiful wildflowers along the road from Te Anau to Milford Sound. They really are this yellow. Such a pity the gorse is a pest plant.

  • Another panorama taken the morning we left beautiful Te Anau

  • Taken from a motel room, in Te Anau, New Zealand.

  • Lake Te Anau, South Island, New Zealand. Camera: Fuji GX617 / Film: Fuji Velvia Please view larger. To see more of my work please visit www.gallerym-australia.com

  • Dusk over Lake Te Anau in the Fiordland National Park in South Island NZ. Lake Te Anau, formed by glacial erosion, is the largest lake in South Island (and the second largest in NZ, Lake Taupo in NOrth Island being the largest) is fed by Clinton and Eglinton rivers. The meaning of Te Anau (or Te Ana-au) in local Maori tongue means ‘cave of the swirling water’, a specific reference to caves on the western shore. Shot in May 2007 from Highway 94 near Te Anau township (population ca. 1800). /

  • Lake Te Anau, South Island, New Zealand. / Fjordland National Park. / Full moon sinking behind the mountains as the sun rose behind me, magic. / Nikon D200

  • This rainbow was the first picture of the day, taken on a tour to Milford Sound.

  • Hasselblad Xpan film camera / Fuji velvia slide film A long period with no rain caused the level of Lake Te Anau to drop so low that this sheltered area off the side of the lake, usually full of moored boats, was no longer deep enough to accomodate them

  • I took this yesterday near the Info Centre in Te Anau, Gateway to Fiordland, New Zealand.I was played with shutter speeds to slow the water down. / Canon 350 D 18-55mm lense. f stop 25 shutter speed 1/8th of a second. I tried several readings but this turned out the best on Digital. / For those with an observant eye, have a good look at what else showed up. There is a bird, and several faces in the photograph. Just in time for Halloween, I thought, when I saw them.
