This image is a reproduction of my original oil painting featuring “Angel” a beautiful American Staffordshire Terrier. When I painted “Angel” I really wanted to portray the loyal, loving devotion that these beautiful dogs have towards their family when they are bred and raised by ethical, responsible people. Unfortunately not all AmStaff’s and PitBulls are as lucky as “Angel” and don’t always end up in responsible homes. The original 16” x 16” oil painting on gallery wrapped canvas is available for sale on my website PetArtist.com.au If you are purchasing a framed print of “Angel” my personal preference for framing would be the black mat and black or charcoal frame.

Unfortunately, this dog was stolen from her yard the day after this picture was taken. It is believed she was stolen to utilize for breeding. After discovering she is spayed, she will most likely become “bait” for she is so passive and submissive. For example, she didn’t want to sit or stand up to have her picture taken, only wanting to lay down on the ground and relax soaking up the sun rays. The real irony and shame is, she was rescued as a puppy from the streets of Denver after the unfair discriminatory BSL went in effect. Pit bulls, America’s favorite hero dog. Popsicle, who received his name after police found him in a freezer during a drug raid, is famous for sniffing out drugs for the DEA. A pit bull rescued in South Los Angeles by County Fire Station 14 during 1985 was the station’s mascot for years. Pit bulls get a bad rap because of irresponsible owners.

This is one of my dogs called Black Bear. He is always smiling…usually more than this…but this one just cracks me up with that little piece of tongue sticking out. :)) Taken in my yard in Amherst, Virginia with my Canon Powershot SX110 IS / Bear is registered with UKC as an American Pit Bull Terrier and with AKC as an American Staffordshire Terrier.
