A fall shot of an old covered bridge in rural Georgia. The Auchumpkee Creek Bridge was built in 1892 and restored in 1985. It sits in its original location in a park like setting while the main road now bypasses it. Similarly, time has passed this area by, once a thriving community, this bridge is all that remains to remind us of the lives once lived there.

This is the side entrance to the Mooresville Post Office. It was built after 1840 of sawmill lumber and now owned by the Town of Mooresville, it is located at the corner of Lauderdale and High Streets. It is the oldest operational post office in the state of Alabama and has served the community from the same building for over 150 years. The mailboxes and office furnishings are even older, having been transferred from the original post office in the tavern. Some families have had the same postoffice boxes for generations. The wood on the post office shows no evidence of axe marks, it was presumably built after 1840. The handmade bricks of the chimney could indicate an earlier date of construction.
Ah a classic car and the flag waving. Just a bit of americana for you on this 4th. Could be used today or any day for any and all patrotic americans. A ford from the twenties I believe.
An amusement park provides the basis of this whimsical image. This particular shot is one of my more popular prints and a personal favorite. For me, it captures the feeling of going to a carnival. This particular shot is from Chicago’s Navy Pier.

This is an acrylic painting done on canvas board. The quaint lovelyness of a small town is replicated in this painting. It’s a delightful representation of the benefits of living in a close community. Hope you enjoy!
