  • This glacier is one of the most impressive attractions in Argentinian Patagonia. The scale of this glacier is quite enormous, and the setting in which it is situated is quite scerene. I personally spent many hours of my holiday watching this immovable hunk of ice as house and car-sized chunks fell off into the lake below. Nature at its best.

  • Standing like a sentinel on guard, this male Coyote in Rocky Mountain National Park glances over his shoulder as he hears something behind him. I managed to captured him when he was prowling around the area for prey, such a gorgeous animal, with the late day sun hitting him perfectly. His eyes are just stunning….. —-—-—-—-—-—-—— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. • Garden Of the Gods Park, outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado, is without a doubt one of my all time favorite places to shoot at….the light there just dances, especially during the golden hours just after sunrise…..Pike’s Peak is in the background, with the wind blowing the snow into the sky. / Thoughts welcomed! • Moraine Valley, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado…. I also will be uploading a color version of this at some point. I really wanted a B&W though for the dramatic light play, it was utterly dramatic in the first light of the morning….scenes like this are just what I live for, and the shadow in the bottom I intentionally made sure to shoot ‘in’ the shot, as I wanted the hint of the split rail fence. Well let me know what ya think! I am groovin’ on HDR B&W I think though / —John

  • On my first visit to Chile, we were the first passengers to sail the Kaweskar Route of the southern fjords on the Skorpios III. The weather was terrible most of the time (typical Patagonia n springtime) and the day before this, visibility was nil. Imagine our surprise when this day we woke up to this serene and magical sight. I think it is the most beautiful landscape I have ever seen – photos cannot do it justice.

  • Lost in Utah would have been a more apt title after the GPS affectionately known as “Dorothy” lead me to a graveyard instead of a lake lol. I discovered some gorgeous countryside along route. There is nothing better than getting lost :))

  • an autumn day walking past the trump skating ice rink.

  • Taken from Farmington Bird Refugee where I went to see the Bald Eagles that where way out on the icy lake. Apparently they come back in Janauryaround Winter to breed. Its such a beautiful place to bird watch. Photo taken by Canon IXUS

  • Feature Image – AMERICA’s National Parks and WILDLIFE Habitat Group / Feature Image – America’s Natural Wonders Group / Lower Yellowstone Falls is simply a spectacular waterfall that drops 308 feet. It is located along the Yellowstone River below canyon Lodge and is easily viewed from both sides of the canyon by road and by hiking all along Uncle Tom’s Trail. I was in total awe when after trudging through the very slippery ice track I then to come face to face with this amazing vista. It really blew me away. . • A Sunrise Over Golden Captured overlooking Golden, Colorado from Lookout Mountain / I went ahead and set the scene up and was thinking “Oh ya, maybe I should try using my filters!” and wallah, this is the outcome! It was a cold morning to say the least, and once again my damn tripod was like a flagpole one licks when it is below freezing lol You have to love the feel of cold, icy steel on bare skin! It is so much fun! NOT! lol But I think it was pretty much worth it. • Mount Fitz Roy in Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina on a beautiful autumn day. I forgot to take my Grad ND filter so this image is made up 4 images covering the dynamic range of the scene and then combined in Photoshop. Lots of masking and adjustment layers and time. • Santiago, capital city of Chile. This is the view from the top of the look out at St Lucia Park. The building that leads the climb to the top is seen in World Forgotten. There is nothing like being in a city and being able to see snow capped mountain tops in the near distance. (45 bus ride takes you to the Andes Mountains). As incredible a place as Santiago is, the city has unfortunately been built in a valley, which has trapped the smog and pollution over the years. The view of the Andes, as seen here, is slowly being obliterated by the smokey sky. After speaking with a few locals, they are predicting only 10 – 20 years until the view is faded away to smog totally. It will be a sad day indeed, when the Andes can’t be seen at such a short distance.
