Cusco, Peru’ ! / While walking in Cusco a few days ago I met this little girl, Flor, and her sister Yolanda ! I had already taken a picture of them last year ” Flor y Yolanda ” and when I showed them a copy of the photo.. they were so impressed that they asked me to take more pictures. This is just one of the many I took ! She is so confident and loves to be photographed !!! I love this picture for the way she poses here, the way she smiles, her spontaneity.. and the beautiful contrast of colors !!!

Spires in Arches National Park – Utah USA tour 2008 Please view large This area preserves over 2,000 natural sandstone arches as well as many other unusual rock formations. In some areas, the forces of nature have exposed millions of years of geologic history. The extraordinary features of the park create a landscape of contrasting colors, landforms and textures that is unlike any other in the world. / I took this shot after a fall down a hill, my wide angle lens took the brunt but survived thankfully although the polarizer was a little worse for wear. Limping, bleeding and rather scarred I throughly enjoyed my hike around this area. Moral of the story look before you shoot !!! Click Here / Upper Antelope Canyon – USA Tour 2008 The Navajo name for Upper Antelope Canyon is Tse’ bighanilini, which means “the place where water runs through rocks.” Upper Antelope is at about 4,000 feet in elevation and the canyon walls rise 120 feet above the stream bed. Though dry most of the year, Antelope Canyon runs, and sometimes floods, with water after rains. It is the water, slowly wearing away the sandstone grain by grain, that has formed the beautiful and graceful curves in the rock. Wind has also played a role in sculpting this fantastic canyon. The floor is largely Cutler Red siltstone or its sand deposited by the meandering rivers that carved the valley. The valley’s vivid red color comes from iron oxide exposed in the weathered siltstone. The darker, blue-gray rocks in the valley get their color from manganese oxide. / Monument Valley has been featured in many forms of media since the 1930s. Appearances include movies, such as Westerns by Director John Ford, and science fiction movies such as Back to the Future III; television appearances as in MacGyver; as well as DVD covers, book covers, and video games such as the Playstation 3 video game Motorstorm. source: wikipedia The Watchman / Moraine Lake / Banff National Park, Moraine Lake / Bryce Canyon National Park, The Lonely Tree / Purden Lake / Sunset in Tofino / Bryce Canyon National Park / Grand National Park, Hazy View /

Sedona, Arizona, USA 2008 Was so focussed on getting to this river before sunset , such a rushed hiked that I lost my bearings on the return trip and nearly spent the night out here !! Was rather daunting but incredibly beautiful nonetheless. I now make sure I have plenty of time either way, perhaps I should invest in a compass and a star chart LOL

The Buttes at Monument Valley are immediately recognisable icons of the American south west. Taken just prior to sunset with a Nikon D70
This image of the Right Mitten framed in between two rocks shows the shadow of the Left Mitten falling across it. The Sky was doing some amazing things behind me and I noticed that most people had truned for the sunset. I steedfast remained shooting into the park. The change in colour taking place in the Valley as the sunset came closer was amazing. The right rock is slightly burned in but I am not one to play in Layers. This is a 3 image HDR given only a slight adjustment. The resulting image was then processed in CS3 with a slight adjustment to straighten the horizion and curves to add a little extra contrast. All 3 images to make the HDR were shot with a Nikon D70
A slightly confused trolley across the bay from the San Francisco city. This thing was missing a wheel and rusty as hell. Shot around 7:50 pm before the sun had gone down, a little experiment with my new ND400 Filter :) If you look extremely carefully the golden gate is on the horizon engulfed in the infamous fog that rolls in every single bloody day… / Settings Canon 40D, 17-85mm IS.
