  • Upper Antelope Canyon The Navajo name for Upper Antelope Canyon is Tse’ bighanilini, which means “the place where water runs through rocks.” Upper Antelope is at about 4,000 feet in elevation and the canyon walls rise 120 feet above the stream bed. Though dry most of the year, Antelope Canyon runs, and sometimes floods, with water after rains. It is the water, slowly wearing away the sandstone grain by grain, that has formed the beautiful and graceful curves in the rock. Wind has also played a role in sculpting this fantastic canyon. / Was so lucky at one point to have the canyon to myself, peaceful, serene and incredibly beautiful. / WARNING / ©2008 Globalphotos All rights reserved. / All photographs, text and images by Globalphotos are the exclusive property of Globalphotos – protected under Australian and international copyright laws. / These images may not be reproduced, copied or manipulated without written permission. / No use for Public Domain. / Use of any image for another photographic concept or illustration is a violation of copyright.

  • Multnomah Falls, Oregon, USA, Taken Summer Vacation 2007 Multnomah Falls is a waterfall on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge, located east of Troutdale, between Corbett and Dodson, along the Historic Columbia River Highway. The falls drops in two major steps, split into an upper falls of 542 feet (165 m) and a lower falls of 69 feet (21 m), with a gradual 9 foot (3 m) drop in elevation between the two, so the total height of the waterfall is conventionally given as 620 feet (189 m). Multnomah Falls is the tallest waterfall in the State of Oregon. / The Multnomah Creek Bridge on the Historic Columbia River Highway. / Colorized picture of the waterfall before the footbridge was addedUnderground springs from Larch Mountain are the year-round source of water for the waterfall, augmented by spring runoff from the mountain’s snowpack and rainwater during the other seasons. A foot trail leads to Benson Footbridge, a 45-foot (14 m)-long footbridge that allows visitors to cross 105 feet (32 m) above the lower cascade. The trail continues to a platform at the top of the upper falls, the Larch Mountain Lookout, where visitors get a bird’s-eye view of the Columbia Gorge and also of “Little Multnomah”, a small cascade slightly upstream from the “upper” falls, which is not visible from ground level. The footbridge is named after Simon Benson, who had the bridge built in 1914.[1] Photo taken by Canon IXUS My work is copyrighted and does not belong to the Public Domain Copyright:All Rights Reserved / Registered:Mon Mar 23 21:30:17 UTC 2009 / Fingerprint:Show digital fingerprint / d8131b583587455963e4e871bab7088b06eb562ff73f80d69f8e2defe4f7f042 / Title:Serenity / Description:Photo of Multnomah Falls Oregon USA / MCN:CB372-797DF-ED9B6 “Serenity” FEATURED FOR RB Homepage…...Thankyou so much RB:):):) / Plus…one of the top Ten in ‘The Best of Oregon” Challenge:):):) And ‘CONGRATULATIONS!!” To all the contestants and everyone who made the Top Ten:):) Proudly Taken By a Canon IXUS….Canon Simply the Best:=}

It is located along the Yellowstone River below canyon Lodge and is easily viewed from both sides of the canyon by road and by hiking all along Uncle Tom’s Trail. I was in total awe when after trudging through the very slippery ice track I then to come face to face with this amazing vista. It really blew me away. . • Shot in the Lamar Valley, YELLOWSTONE National Park, USA. A lucky grab-shot. / I had spotted the Cottonwoods and wanted to capture the beautiful colours of Fall against the shadowy hill behind, then I saw the Male Bison emerge from the trees. He had a mission on his mind, a couple of females across the river, LOL !! (out of sight of this shot.) He was moving pretty quickly, and luckily I had my short telephoto lens already attached to the camera ! A magical moment and experience !! Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, set on Landscape mode, Aperture Priority, with polarising filter, hand-held, iso 200, f 6.7, 1/180 sec , underexposed by one stop because of the dark shadowy hill , Auto WB ( I mostly use this), lens was my Canon EF 75-300mm set at 200mm (don’t have this lens anymore) RAW file, processed in Adobe Camera Raw, then tweaked in PS CS3, with selective Levels/Curves, and selective colour adjustments. • Highway 72 outside the Town of Warn in Colorado. Sawtooth Peak takes the skyline and the Autumn color comes alive.

  • Mount Fitz Roy in Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina on a beautiful autumn day. I forgot to take my Grad ND filter so this image is made up 4 images covering the dynamic range of the scene and then combined in Photoshop. Lots of masking and adjustment layers and time. • Taken in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, USA. Pretty much a tourist snapshot of the Falls, which I thought I would share with you ! / A rather crowded place, justifiably so, who wouldn’t want to see this sight ? The Canyon has some amazing colours, and I found the best time was towards evening to be viewed at it’s best. The vertiginous slopes are very loose and crumbly, and I wondered how those trees maintain their perilous foothold !! Shot on a Canon EOS 40D, polariser, tripod, f22, 1/3 sec, iso 100, auto wb, RAW file processed in PS CS3, levels/curves/selective colour adjustments.
