Wild deer in Yosemite National Park – USA I spent ages with a group of these deer. Walked slowly to approach, after approx 15 mins i was surrounded by them, couldn’t shoot as they were too close, one just 10cm away, so we just hung out together until the cold drove me inside. Was a beautiful experience. They have the most gorgeous eyes :)) I loved every minute in Yosemite. Cart wheel, destroyed. Found in the high mountains near La Paz Nature Preserve, Costa Rica, Central America. Abandoned, but still holding its beauty. Leica V-Lux 1.
Lost in Utah would have been a more apt title after the GPS affectionately known as “Dorothy” lead me to a graveyard instead of a lake lol. I discovered some gorgeous countryside along route. There is nothing better than getting lost :))

Acrylic in canvas 12” x 12” Inspiration for this has come from looking at “Molas”. / “Mola” means “shirt” or “clothing”. The mola originated with the tradition of Kuna women painting their bodies with geometrical designs, using available natural colours; in later years these same designs were woven in cotton, and later still, sewn using cloth bought from the European settlers of Panamá. Molas have their origin in the body painting. Only after the colonization by the Spanish and contact with missionaries the Kuna started to transfer their traditional geometric designs on fabric, first by painting directly on the fabric and later by using the technique of reverse application. It is not known for certain when this technique was first used. It is assumed that the oldest molas are between 150 and 170 years old. I was drawn by their bold use of bright colours and stylied shapes. / I have started to design my own ‘molas’ using my favourite creatures. Also my brother asked me recently to paint a picture(s) suitable for his conservatory. The theme was supposed to be South American … but it has turned out Central American. Anyway, I found tem most enjoyable to create.

On the right side of the road, the flat land is bordered by the eastern face of Mitchell Mesa, rising 1,000 feet above. No offence to our American Friends… but it really gives me the #@!$ ’s the way you guys spell these words… there are many more, but these are the ones that really bug me! Please bring back the U and return to COLOUR & HUMOUR… it makes tagging and internet searches much easier for the rest of us ;o) I’m sure we are all missing out in one way or another when tagging work or websites and not using both spellings of these and many others… or am I just being dumb? Enjoy. Brother Adam Youtube Video .

Shot in the Lamar Valley, YELLOWSTONE National Park, USA. A lucky grab-shot. / I had spotted the Cottonwoods and wanted to capture the beautiful colours of Fall against the shadowy hill behind, then I saw the Male Bison emerge from the trees. He had a mission on his mind, a couple of females across the river, LOL !! (out of sight of this shot.) He was moving pretty quickly, and luckily I had my short telephoto lens already attached to the camera ! A magical moment and experience !! Shot on my Canon EOS 40D, set on Landscape mode, Aperture Priority, with polarising filter, hand-held, iso 200, f 6.7, 1/180 sec , underexposed by one stop because of the dark shadowy hill , Auto WB ( I mostly use this), lens was my Canon EF 75-300mm set at 200mm (don’t have this lens anymore) RAW file, processed in Adobe Camera Raw, then tweaked in PS CS3, with selective Levels/Curves, and selective colour adjustments.
