This is a ruby red lacewing butterfly, and the way it had it’s proboscis inserted into the flower made me think of that moment when we first get a nice thick milkshake, and we are sucking hard on the straw, fighting against the frozen delight to extract it’s sweet creaminess!

Colorado is certainly known for it’s parks, and this one I happened upon out of the blue one day….it really is a majestic site, with these odd rock formations just jetting straight up from the earth, as if reaching for the sky. I thought I might say a little bit about how we got these Ophelia shots. Missy is a VERY talented photographer friend of mine (to view her work, go http://missyjanek.deviantart.com/) and she has also modeled for me in the past. I thought she’d be great for this concept, so we started about 3pm yesterday. All was going well until she got in the pool and said “I don’t know how to swim!” So we struggled and propped her up with pool noodles and floaties and Adam even held her legs while she tried to stay afloat. I felt like she really was going to drown a couple of times! (We kept her in the shallow end, of course! and my dog was keeping watch as life guard.) For someone who had not really been in water before, I think she did a great job. :)

...Nii nahii’maa at’e, ya nahiika’ee at’e. / The earth is our Mother, the sky is our Father. ...I wanted to portray the soft side of the Apache Nation & with this beautiful Photo Tom Broderick IPA .. sent me of his beloved Mother ‘Rosa’ ... who is an Aztec Apache woman, it was easy …Apache woman ..In physical appearance the Apache vary greatly, but are rather above the medium height. They are good talkers, are not readily deceived, and are honest in protecting property placed in their care. Being a nomadic people the women attained high skill in making baskets. Their dwellings were shelters of brush, which were easily erected by the women and were well adapted to their arid environment and constant shifting…a first experimental collaboration. featured in ‘True Potential’ .

I found the intial design for ‘She’s A Lady’ before I turned it into the hot and sexy Tom Jones lady. So I decided to do a repaint. Here is my version of ‘Eva’, from one of my favorite musicals and then movie, ‘Evita’. I didn’t use the song one always thinks of from this musical, ‘Don’t Cry For Me Argentina’. This is my favorite song ‘You Must Love Me’. Below is the memorable clip from the movie.
