Well I’m very new to photography, and I’ve taken those two pictures on a 4 megapixel Sony Digicam. I’ve been looking online trying to do some research about whic camera would best suit my needs. My budget is about £150-£300 (max!!!) and i don’t know whether to get a digital compact camera or a SLR camera. I think if I went for SLR then I’d have to go for a 2nd hand one, which is perfectly fine with me. I’ve noticed this site: http://www.mifsuds.com sell secondhand – i noticed a Nikon D70S there, but body only, no lens. Do you think this is a good buy? And what lens should i buy with that? Please advise or let me know if you know of any other 2nd hand shops where i can pick up a good camera. Cheers in advance.. Ciaranx

I have often wondered when it is time to remove the word “Amateur” from Freelance Photographer. I am continuously learning new ways of making photos more appealing and new ideas for editing with Photoshop. I just want to be the best photographer that I can be. I have been taking pictures for the family and friends since I was in high school then for the boss at the places I worked in the USA and overseas, now I am taking them with a lot higher quality equipment than I did years ago. I am still learning so will hold on to the “Amateur” title for a little longer. / I do not like using the flash to get a picture, using natural light is my choice. I hope everyone will feel free to critique my work.

Cautiously, Sean placed one foot inside the cellar, followed by the other. His unsettling screams slowly faded into the night.

  • shot in sepia. added only the border.

  • The name of this rose bush is Truly Yours. I love the gentle pastels next to the rich, dark greens. This image was taken with a Samsung S760 digital camera at about 8:00am on a sunny day. 7.2MP. Pixels: 1000 X 753

  • This photo was taken early in the morning, just after the sun rose, and after a long storm. I love the water droplets on the flowers and leaves!!! I also liked the shape of the Maple sapling leaves next to the Hibiscus leaves for added texture. Pixels: 1500 X 1200 Camera: Samsung S760 Digital 7.2MP

  • Still life taken for my photography class. Any critiques are welcome. Thanks
