  • Amanda's Red Boots
    by Jo O'Brien

    US$4.42–US$117.80

I’m taking photos of people with their favourite item of clothing and asking them about it. Tell me about your red boots. / These boots are made by Alannah Hill (who is not particularly one of my favourite designers but I fell in love with these boots at first sight!) I think they are just perfect! I love the colour, the brooch and the red ribbons. They are just so me! Unfortunately they are not the easiest heel to walk in so I don’t get to wear them too much, and I like to save them for special occasions so they have a bigger impact on the people who see / them! What’s the story behind you getting them? / Like all of my shoes, they were an impulse buy. I just can’t help but whip out my credit card when I see new shoes! My friend was working at the store where I purchased them at the time so I got them a little cheaper which helped sweeten the deal! So, why exactly do you love shoes so much? / I need one in every colour to go with my outfits, every style for different comfort levels, moods and seasons. Shoes to go with stockings and classic vintage heels that every girl must own! I can’t part with shoes, they have to be broken beyond repair or stolen from me. You may also see more of Jo’s work here but please note: Works for charity must be purchased through this portfolio, not the individual artist’s portfolio, in order for the proceeds to go to the charity. However, you may also visit all artists in this folio at A Photographer’s Craft to browse more of our work. Current fundraiser: All of the proceeds for the fundraiser from May-August 2008 will be donated to the National Cancer Institute, a division of the National Institute of Health, which has provided more than 70 years of excellence in cancer research around the world. Welcome to our gallery, the Gift of Art. We are a group of international photographers, members of A Photographer’s Craft group, who have united to donate the proceeds from the sale of their art to various charities. A Photographer’s Craft group hopes that bringing together international artists will aid international health concerns. The group aims to promote art’s ability to communicate the human condition, contribute to research, aid, and prevention, celebrate survivors, and honor those we have lost. We will be launching our first charity fundraiser from May-August 2008. The donated works for sale can be viewed and purchased in this portfolio, The Gift of Art.

  • not sure how i feel about this one. / I’ll let the comments give me an idea of how it looks to a more objective eye.

  • I am River Phoenix
    by Philip Rogan

    US$4.05–US$107.92

Amanda Bruckner the former Miss Ireland in Ricky Corrs never released masterpiece short “I am River Phoenix”. The story is covered in Marilyn in the Movies and it was my first film as a stills photographer. / I have the rights to the photographs by the way in case anybody is asking. Or you can ask Ricky. I am hoping that someday Ricky will finish this film as though it was an unmitigated disaster due to the camera operator framing Ricky and other members of the crew into the edges of scenes I think that it might add to the overall madness of a young Dublin businesswoman passing out in the back of a Taxi just as the news of River Phoenix’s tragic death comes over the radio and subsequently waking up as River Phoenix. Brilliant! Below and all around is Dublin with the River Liffey resembling cellulite below. You can also see O’Connell Bridge in the mid ground and the arched footbridge which is the famous Ha’penny Bridge to be found on all postcards of Dublin without fail.

  • First Sunset
    by Amanda McLennan

    US$3.56–US$95.00

This sunset was the very first of 2008. Taken from our front verandah, this was one of the most spectacular sunsets I had ever seen. This photo is slightly cropped along the bottom, but is compleately untouched. I think all of Perth will remember this sunset (if they weren’t too hungover from the night before), the sky was brilliant. /
