Tell me about your red boots. / These boots are made by Alannah Hill (who is not particularly one of my favourite designers but I fell in love with these boots at first sight!) I think they are just perfect! I love the colour, the brooch and the red ribbons. They are just so me! Unfortunately they are not the easiest heel to walk in so I don’t get to wear them too much, and I like to save them for special occasions so they have a bigger impact on the people who see / them! What’s the story behind you getting them? / Like all of my shoes, they were an impulse buy. I just can’t help but whip out my credit card when I see new shoes! My friend was working at the store where I purchased them at the time so I got them a little cheaper which helped sweeten the deal! So, why exactly do you love shoes so much? / I need one in every colour to go with my outfits, every style for different comfort levels, moods and seasons. Shoes to go with stockings and classic vintage heels that every girl must own! I can’t part with shoes, they have to be broken beyond repair or stolen from me. Hope despite calamity

Gull Island Cove, NL Bits of glacial refuse were strewn all over the beach behind the breakwater. / We bagged them up, brought them home and boiled them down for the purest tea you have ever had.

Perth Zoo – July Otter Otters are small fish eating mammals. They are found in Europe, North America, Asia, North Africa and a giant otter found in parts of South America. The giant otters are becoming rare as they are hunted by poachers, habitat loss and the toxic affect of some of the chemicals used by the mining industry. / In Europe they are affected by pesticides and are frequently hit by cars. The sea otter was nearly hunted to extinction in the early 1900’s for the quality of the fur, they are now that uncommon, there are not enough of them left in the wild to be profitable any more. / The otter is a very active and playful animal. The sea otter lives on the sea but other otters hunt and play in the water but spend most of their time on the land to prevent becoming waterlogged. / / /

This sunset was the very first of 2008. Taken from our front verandah, this was one of the most spectacular sunsets I had ever seen. This photo is slightly cropped along the bottom, but is compleately untouched. I think all of Perth will remember this sunset (if they weren’t too hungover from the night before), the sky was brilliant. /

Pastel on paper. / A portrait commission from a few years back. Amanda is a glamorous and enigmatic creature…we did the photoshoot for this in Brunswisk St’s Black Cat. I had someone holding candles from the table in front of the sitter to provide soft illumination. / what is her secret…?

I packed a thermos, phoned a friend and spent a beautiful spring day at Araluen Botanical Gardens in Roleystone. Every year thousands of tulip bulbs are planted and each year the show of flowers is brilliant. These are the best shots of the days, I hope you like them.
