Water was calm unlike the clouds

This is a view of my wall behind my computer with the light coming through my blind in the afternoon. I love the little patterns it makes on the wall and I couldn’t decide which one I liked most so I had to make a triptych. I hope you enjoy it too!

Montage created with a 6-hole pinhole camera, “in-tin”. You can see all my pinhole works here

This shot was taken using a pinhole camera made out of a Milo tin. / A pinhole camera is a camera without a glass lens. / The tin is fully blacked out and a pin sized, extremely tiny hole is made. / The shutter of a pinhole camera usually consists of a hand operated flap of some light-proof material to cover and uncover the pinhole so as to not expose the film or paper inside the tin. / Pinhole cameras require much longer exposure times than conventional cameras because of the small aperture; typical exposure times can range from 5 seconds to hours or days. / The film used here is Agfachrome (transparency/positive) RSX II 50 ASA and is placed inside the Milo tin in complete darkness of course. / The location is Altona pier. / Warning: absolutely no Milo was discarded to make this pinhole camera. oh yeah, please view it large.

It has been so foggy down here in Melbourne recently and I have been doing a load of night shots…. This is one of the results. Oh and it is two images combined to make one. Enjoy =)

On the bay here the wind can get pretty full on, so Altona is a major place for kite surfers to congregate and battle it out against old blowy! It is an amazing sight when there is about 20 or so of them scattered along the shore, jumping and flipping as they scoot across the water! I am desperate to try it, but have not the extra money to give it a go yet…... one day =)

Come sit, take a load off, its been a long journey. Have a moment to recoup before we set off for the end of our trip. Thanks for joining me =)

This was an absolute fluke of a shot…. I was all set up to take a similar one to Saying Hello when a woman walked past me and just as my finger hit the shutter, her little foot appeared in my view finder…. at first I was cursing her for it, but then when I came to it later, I am thanking her. It works for me in so many ways. And this completes our journey! I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have loved capturing and delivering it to you. =)

This is a little further on from where I live, but a short bike ride around the bay. There never seems to be anyone in these boats except teems of Seagulls, Pelicans and other bird life. I would hate to be hopping in and sitting down after they have been hanging out there. Loads of pressies left behind I imagine. Enjoy!

More of the Esplanade in Altona, where all the action happens.a

I think it is worms they are after!?

one more foggy night shot….

On the way to the water, a house I pass! I love corrugated iron, call me weird, but I dig it, so was inspired to stop and take a photo.
-
I think this is self explanatory!

Back to the beach and seagulls….. there are always more seagulls.

This was taken about 4 blocks from my house! I love to take my wee boy for a walk along the water. I am very lucky to be able to be so close to such a lovely place and it always makes me want to go for a walk, which is good for the dog too ;-D

This is a continuation of my Altona series….. I have fallen in love with my suburb. It has such and old school charm about it. The days of old have amazingly carried over into now, when Altona was the place where Melbournians would have a holiday house and retire to for the weekend in the summer. It is a post war built suburb and the houses reflect that, along with the beach side atmosphere. But it is on the Esplanade I love the most, where people converge to walk, talk, play etc…. Such a nice vibe =)

You can see Melbourne city in the background of this one….
