  • Mt. Kosciusko majestic sowgum

  • This evening I joined the thousands for the annual Bristol Balloon Fiesta. Took over a hundred shots but this is one of my favourites.

  • Taken on 07/15/07 Majestic Mount Shasta, Northern CA… / _ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. • This was taken up in the Bailey Creek area South West of Mount Lassen, in Northern CA, on July 26th of this year…...the water is from Bailey Creek but was running through a large culvert and formed this wonder little waterfall back into Bailey Creek.

  • This was taken at the 7000 foot level South West of Mount Lassen in North Eastern CA in August of 2007; I wanted to try something a bit different and my love for “The Blues” just took over. I love the different layers you can see from up that high. And believe me being up there is a “natural high”!

  • Surrealism. High above the mist, the mighty eagle, with wings fully stretched, glides ever so gracefully keeping a watchful eye out on all that is below. Come and soar where the eagles soar in the land of Bryce.

  • Now where’s that elevator?

  • taken on some 1.800m above sea leavel on my way to Kühtai this is also my January image for my 2008 calendar

  • A place where I spend quite a lot of time :)

  • Same tree as the one in the “Spooky Tree” photo, just a different POV

  • See other works from this expedition: beyond the blue Summit

  • Mmmmmmm, salt….. / Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni – one of the more surreal cycling experiences. There’s about 5000 square kilometers of this stuff. The only regret I have about this trip was that I didn’t try to ride clean across it – a two day effort by all accounts. Maybe next time.

  • A restless flight – wondering how long more – wondering what was in store at the other end Natural light from the aircraft window -utilising the shadow to add some feeling of concern while the light on the other side can indicate some hope. f4.5 1/60 sec – colour desaturated in PS-CS1

  • And then the arrival on the Jungfraujoch, in the heart of a glorious glacier world on the very roof of Europe! Superb views extend as far as the summits of the Vosges Mountains in France and the Black Forest in Germany. The Great Aletsch Glacier, at 22 km the longest ice-stream in the Alps, begins on the Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe.

  • Breithorn, Zermatt, Switzerland.

  • Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs CO with the beautiful Pikes Peak in the background. HDR taken with 5 exposures using Dynamic Photo HDR and Nikon D60.

  • Puerto Vallarta Mexico

  • At over 1000 metres at Point Lookout in NSW the light this morning was like nothing I have experienced.

  • Mt. Evans is one of the over 14,000 feet high mountains in Colorado. it is unique as it has the highest paved road in North America as it winds its way up to the top of the mountain. On the way up there are many memorable views as well as heart stopping curves and turns. This image was taken on one of the trails that offer hikes on the way to the summit. It was sunny and but there were shady areas that needed a boost so I took several exposures and used HDR to meld them together, Canon 40D / Lens: 17-85 / Three exposures 1 stop between / Hand held

  • Featured in “For the Love of Canon” September 2009 / Featured in “I Love Birds” September 2009 / Featured in “A Vision of Flight Photography” October 2009 A Bald Eagle soaring high above the ocean off the coast of Vancouver Island, BC. This is one of the images used in my Fly with the Eagles calendar Canon 20D / 1/1000sec f6.3 ISO 200

  • This cute creature is a Viscacha. A bit like a big rabbit with a long tail, they live amongst the rocks in high altitude regions of Peru, Bolivia and Chile. He/She (not sure which) is a Mountain Viscacha, a member of the Rodent family. This one is a wild animal, free to do as it pleases, but he’s quite happy living amongst the rocks around the Conaf Ranger Station at the Salar de Surire National Monument in far northern Chile. / This is a very remote part of the world and very few people would pass this way, so I think the Viscacha have learned to tolerate the human intrusion. / They’re diurnal, but their diet consists of grass, not very nutritious grass, so they spend most of their time asleep. When I found him he was asleep. I had him framed in the camera, thinking that he has to move eventually. And he did. He stretched out his tiny arms and yawned and then promptly fell back to sleep. / It was all over in a second and I had just enough time for one shot. Canon 5D Mark II / An old 100-300mm Canon lens at 300mm / ISO 250 / 1/500 second at f/5.6 / Handheld / Captured in Raw / I’ve introduced some vignetting around the edges and applied a curve in Photoshop CS4 but otherwise the image is as taken.
