I took this photo as part of my final project at art school in 2008. Dave was part of a collection of tattooed bodies at the Newport Tattoo Convention 2008, which is where I photographed him. I shot about eighteen people that morning and made a book illustrating their body art and stories behind them. Dave, who is a tattoo artist, had designed the image on his back, and had it tattooed on at the convention by a fellow tattoo artist.
This is another image taken on the same day as the other Kinderdijk Postcard. I really liked the way yesterday’s turned out, so I decided to work on another one today. I hope you like it!
Thinking of fall and the strange, wonderful and lonely delight of it; the re-entrance of fire for warmth and comfort as cold sets in. Thinking of death and life reborn, listening to Loreena McKennitt, this is what happened. Scottish spelling I’m told. Correct me if I’m wrong. /

Angel Model from ~b-e-c-k-y-stock at DA Without Words Based on The Angel by Hans Christian Andersen Plot summary A child has died, and an angel is escorting him to Heaven. They wander over the earth for a while, visiting the child’s favorite places. Along the way they gather flowers to transplant into the gardens of Heaven. The angel takes the child to a poverty-stricken area where a dead field lily lies in a trash heap. The angel salvages the flower explaining that it had cheered a crippled boy before he died. The angel then reveals he was the boy.
Ok this may gross you out, you’ll probably hate it…. but it is different! June 2009. Sold the usage of this image for the cover of a fictional novel, The Laptop-Cyber Murders by Daniel Parks. The book has been previous published but is being re-edited and partially re-written for publishing later this year. As when it is published I’ll add an image here!
Black and white view of a tree in the grounds of Ashton court, just outside of bristol, across the suspension bridge. Living in Bristol we are lucky to have lots of green spaces, the downs, blaise castle and ashton court being three of my favourites. This tree always stands out and is one of my favourites, it was one of the first images i converted to B&W. / Taken with Nikon D40, 18-55dx / Ashton Court is a woodland park that was left by it’s owner to the people of Bristol / This shot has been featured in 3 groups and won a challenge in the angels and spirit guides group /
Lawton, OK / May 09 2 photos layered with different opacities Brushes I found on the web here All put together in CS4 by me =) Nikon D80 For Earth Keepers: Lawton, OK is HOT, muggy and buggy. There isn’t much to do around here, but when you look around with the right attitude there is beauty to be found. However…. with the extreme wind here the garbage gets blown all over the cow pastures and hay fields. We need to be better about securing our trash and that include not producing as much too.

Another one of Melbourne’s many laneways. Soon as I took this, i was reminded of life in the late 70’s / early 80s by the building at the end of the lane. Using texture layering and colour altering in photoshop, I was able to take the photo back in time, to an old jacket pocket, where it had been left, crumpled and forgotten for decades. As usual, all my endeavors to find the right texture for this took place in the wee hours of the night. Finally finishing it at 2am. A shop owner stays warm inside his little hut of usefulness whilst another man stands in the rain. / This was an freezing cold day in Sydney, and the constant shower made it so much more miserable. I was walking around looking for something to photograph when I saw this man in the hut, he looked very cosy so I tried to get the shot to show the contrast between the outside and in. This is another piece from the folio that I decided needed a facelift! Originally called Sunday, I gave it the vintage treatment, adding a couple of textures and blanching out the colour slightly, to resemble a postcard or memory of a past holiday or day off at the beach. This was taken at Playa de la Concha, in San Sebastian, the main beach in the port town. It was a beautiful day and our first day in there. A trip to the beach was well worth the long walk from the hostel. These changing rooms were up for hire, as well as umbrellas, sun beds and deck chairs. It is a beach full of activity and vibe. The Adelaide Eye, as we called it.. a not so giant ferris wheel, located across the road from our apartment in Glenelg, where we stayed over the weekend. I’ve always wanted to capture a ferris wheel, never had the chance to do it until this moment. Desaturated this one and added a texture from www.deviantart.com to achieve a more vintage look. This is the Glenelg pier, Adelaide. I spent at least 10 mins waiting for people coming and going to clear out so I could get a shot of the pier alone. As you can see, this didn’t happen. Turns out, I prefer the activity in this one! Added a texture from www.deviantart.com stock and blanched out the colour form both texture and photo. Different? My depiction of the mind of someone in personal struggle with society. The light and the dark, happy and sad, known and unknown. All of this moving with random thought processes, pop culture, gossip, media influence, culture clashes and a lot of the time, white noise to fill whatever silence is left. This is modern society. Confusing, confronting, intimidating and at times down right scary. Which way do we go? Title of this piece I have borrowed from one of my favourite songs: “..can I please have some silence. How about some space..“ / Mindcircus – Way Out West. City Of Melbourne Musuem. Not the one in Carlton, housing dinosaur bones and relics though. This is the nondescript one on Spring Street, in the old Treasury Building. It showcases the history of Melbourne as a city, from colonisation to today. This was taken in the vaults, underground. Which have been turned into an interactive journey through the gold rush days. This particular room had only a tv and light in it, both of modern look. The contrast grabbed my attention straight away. It had a spooky yet familiar effect on me. I didn’t know what to make of it, but I kept looking at it, unsure what to think or feel. Slight crop of original photo. Desaturated all and selectively coloured tv screen. Increased contrasted and brightness to achieve higher levels of mood. I decided to turn a few of the pics I had published (see here) into pieces for the folio. This is the rear view of Notre Dame, Paris, capital of France. This cathedral resembles a neo gothic castle from this view. I wanted to give this one a historic look, but it has taken on a more fairy tale appearance. I love it when the piece takes over and creates itself! Textures from www.deviantart.com free use stock. Colour altering, hue changes, desaturating and colour level adustment allowed for the colours in this. Canon SX100IS MCN: CVQ4W-C3DVJ-QD54B More Europe work:
