  • The Real Mr Woolworth
    by edwardfish

    US$3.56–US$95.00

“Do you think he could be involved in some kind of important, top secret work for the government?” Reverand Brown quizzed Mrs Willoughby regarding her mysterious tennant Mr Woolworth. “Well Sir.. that might explain the surreptitious comings and goings, but what of those strange high pitched noises coming from his room and my little Henry going missing all of a sudden?” the woman asked, her voice heavy with concern. ” Oh come come my dear..” replied the vicar, ” Im sure theres a perfectly rational explanation…they are independent creatures after all..and indeed we both know how difficult it can be to settle in sometimes…especially if one is a long way from home…”

  • I created this image this afternoon in attempt to combat a bout of the blahs and a lack of inspiration. Because I really liked how my last Forgotten Postcard worked out, I thought I’d try to continue the series. This image was taken back in February, on a grey day, at Kinderdijk in the Netherlands. The windmills of Kinderdijk are one of the best known Dutch tourist sites. They were placed on the list of UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1997. Like me, the original image needed a bit of perking up. I hope you like the results.

  • Altered State
    by wayne d

    US$3.71–US$98.80

Adelaide Milling Company Ltd….......at the wharf, Port Adelaide, South Australia. Now disused but proposed to be part of a new waterfront apartment complex. Image copyright © 2008 wdphotografics. Copying and displaying or redistribution of this image without permission from the artist is strictly prohibited.

  • I’m up to my old tricks again! I’m now truly hooked on the Forgotten Postcard concept. I went digging through my old photos today to find some that I wasn’t altogether happy with to see what could be done. Venice is one of those timeless, European cities. I haven’t had the best of luck photographing it as both times I’ve been there the weather has been horrid. This particular shot was pretty drab and boring. Hopefully it’s a bit more interesting now :)

  • Thank you for all the support with the recent issue

I’d like to extend a warm and very heart felt thank you and gratitude to everyone who has shown their support regarding the photo stealing issue. As you all know I am not that type of person. The person/persons responsible for the allegations are only negative people who feel the need to try and take others down with them Misery loves company which my dear friend Harriet reminded me of. You will all be interested in hearing that all accounts associated with the accuser/ accusers have now since dissapeared off of redbubble and another site. often it is easy to throw accusations around but if the accuser cannot back the accusation they run. After much thought, and time to calm myself, and logically think things through I have realized that even though the accusation was not meant in a positive manner, in fact in a way it is positive. I am choosing to see this as… someone has compared my work to Robert Bateman, who is a wonderful and extraordinarily talented nature painter. Therefore in a back handed way.. It was a compliment to my abilities and quality of work. For any of you who would like to browse some of Robert Bateman’s work.. here is a link to his site. I had the opportunity to meet with Robert many years ago, and he quiet confidence and respect for all those around him and the world itself made a lasting impression on me. I’ve often thought of him as a mentor and he has quietly given me the strength to pursue my dream of photography. Also I would like to send a warm thank you to redbubble itself for quickly and effectively looking into this entire matter for me and supporting me through it! Thank you everyone! You have all touched me with your warmth and caring. Warm hugs to you all. I have not responded individually to support as there are quite a few. I will do my best to send each and every one of you a private bubble mail with my thanks and love. I will be here for the next few days but I will be taking a few days reprieve from the computer, in order to concentrate on my photography and my daughter. I will not post new items for a few days but i will comment on everyones work daily. Thank you again all my wonderful friends. / Warm hugs to all Robert Bateman link : / http://www.robertbateman.ca/

  • I've Now been accused of stealing and altering photos
    by tuffcookie

Well now this just gets more and more interesting! I’ve now been accused of stealing and altering photos from other artists… more speci…

Well now this just gets more and more interesting! I’ve now been accused of stealing and altering photos from other artists… more specifically Robert Bateman peices! Completely unbeleivable! I’ve never stolen an image in my life!! I would never ever do that! Each and every one of my works are my own!! Yes at times I will crop a photo, change lighting slightly, clean up a slightly fuzzy image but never in my life have I stolen an image! More specifically “Peanut Thief ” is supposedly one of the images that i have stolen! I have proof and witness’s that i took this photo along with all my other images! There was no background removal from that series of shots! I simply placed the peanuts on a white garden table and took some shots! I am tempted to contact Robert Bateman himself to see if he really feels i’ve stolen his work! I would assume that such a wonderful artist, whom I’ve met several times and greatly admire his work that if he thought for an instant that an image was in question he would contact me himself! I cannot believe the lengths some people will go to see me not succeed! Now I am just mad! its one thing to try and degrade me but how dare someone accuse me of doing something I would never ever dream of!!

  • Working full time means I don’t always have time to spend on art as I would like. But I thought I would post a picture of a birthday card I made for my Mum recently. I know it is not really “art” but I had a fun evening making it. I used natural fibre collage papers which I cut up and assembled on a yellow card mount with glue and double-sided tape. Also a piece of torn watercolour paper with watercolour background, A red piece of leather textured paper. Some gold embossing powder, clear embossing ink, coffee pigment ink plus stamps from the Stamp Trap for the lettering. And finally a silver “Birthday” sticker and black mount board edged with silver pigment ink.

    by Heike Schenk Arena

    US$3.71–US$98.80

  • Me and my love
    by Peter Zentjens

    US$3.42–US$91.20

I seriously doubt that anybody is going to buy a grainy card, poster or print of ugly old me but I nevertheless wanted to share this work with you. ;) / It’s one of those works that in real life gets tons of reactions when people see it hanging on our wall. I’m curious to see whether it will provoke any reactions here on this wonderful art community. In truth, this is only half the artwork. The other half has agreed to being upload to redbubble too, so, here she is:

  • The Attempt
    by dimarie

    US$4.99–US$133.00

acrylic on canvas / slightly altered in ps this piece was not so easy to do, i had to dig into my mind, into parts shut off shut down blocked off but always there… / this is a glimpse into how i came to be who i am today. Theres a story to this / based on true events / tho i’ve never understood it / it has never made sense / how one who was given all of my trust / all of my love and all of my lust / crushed it and twisted me / til there was nothing much left / broken and bruised / and living regret / These were my dark days / my youth mispent / when my heart belonged to a monster / and my shattered soul wept / Years went by in this madness / why i cannot say / but this event depicted here / was the beginning of the end of my dark days / he tried to put out the light that i am / he attempted to end it all / but that fate was not the fate meant for me / and somehow i survived the fall Domestic abuse happens everywhere, both in seen and unseen places, / it isnt somethin only depicted on tv, its real and its happening. / and not just to those you’ll never meet / one day it mite happen to you / or someone you love / one way we can help fight this injustice / is awareness, education, resources and aide for those in need. / Intolerance of abuse against women, children, even some men…, of any nature, is needed to break the cycles of abuse and neglect. / We need more Resources. The human race needs Help. / Help make the world we’re in a better place / we’ve only the one world and we’ve all got to share it. / lets strive for a better tomorrow for our children today. thankyou for taking the time to view my art and (hopefully) comment… / please have a look at my other artwork… / hope you enjoy! :) /
