I have a thing for flowers..and the softness of their petals…. :)
Yellow alstroemeria flower…. these little blooms are one of my favorites…can you tell? To fully appreciate the textures and details… This is best viewed large…. :D (little bit of background information on how I created this image: My kitchen window is the perfect place for natural light…. It streams in onto my kitchen table. So what I did was I got a white piece of posterboard and secured it behind the vase that this flower was in..and made sure that the paper curved around the vase..so that it also created a shadow, as well as the background. I placed a blue piece of material directly underneath the vase and paper so that when I rotated the vase and paper toward the window and the incoming sunlight…it not only created a shadow..but also reflected and tinted the shadow to the subtle blue that you see. That combined with a mini tripod and some prayers that the kids didnt come running up is how this image was born… It sounds complicated….but just start experimenting with reflecting light and creating natural shadows..and you will be suprised what you can do.) Thanks / Suni

My first real attempt at using a macro 2×52mm High Definition attachment lens with my new Nikon D90 camera.

The photograph of this Lily was taken in my garden as is on the stalk . Fortunately I had a short tripod and managed to get a good DoF with slower shutter speed , (anti-shake helped :-) )
Sometimes our dreams are nightmares…sometimes they are embarrassing….sometimes we dont even remember them…but sometimes they are soft and gentle…..almost as if we were in a daze…and to me..the softness of this particular image reminds me of that particular feeling. This is a white alstroemeria flower on top of satin. Thanks / Suni
Alstroemeria or Peruvian Lily / Alstroemeria (syn. Alstremeria), commonly called the Peruvian Lily or Lily of the Incas, is a South American genus of about 50 species of flowering plants. Almost all of the species are restricted to one of two distinct centres of diversity, one in central Chile, the other in eastern Brazil. Species of Alstroemeria from Chile are winter-growing plants while those of Brazil are summer-growing. All are long-lived perennials except A. (Taltalia) graminea, a diminutive annual from the Atacama Desert of Chile. The genus was named for the Swedish baron Clas Alströmer (Claus von Alstroemer) by his close friend Carolus Linnaeus. The plant was first described by the French botanist Louis Feuillée. The plant’s seeds were among many collected by Alströmer on a trip to South America in 1753. / Wikipedia / Panasonic FZ20
