No Dog Allowed
I am submitting this image to the in the moment club although I don’t know if it is going to be accepted as it is an image AND a text work at the same time and they belong together to make sence :-) “Allow this moment to be” is a quotation taken out of Eckhart Tolle’s (the author of The power of Now) speech on a retreat I am actually listening on my iPod. Imagine YOU are standing just at the beginning of this portal. Your daily thoughts following you everywhere, constantly resisting and judging actions or behaviours from others, generating negativity (noise) in your head and therefore preventing you from going further through the tunnel. You’re stuck in an environment where you’ll notice everything that disturbs you (symbolized here by the waste on the floor and decay of the building). If you happen to stop thinking for a little moment, you’ll eventually notice the sign just above your head: “Allow this moment to be”. Try to follow this directive, just accept everything as it is, feel it literally, breathe it. Continue walking and enter the second part of the tunnel. Notice that despite the fact that it is still dark, the waste and decay are no longer as imminent as in the first part. The noise in your head is getting weak and therefore leaving you more space to notice the beautifulness of things in front of you. You will then eventually notice the little trees on your left and right. Continue your journey and meet the trees. Observe them. Do not try to analyze them. Just be aware of their presence. In addition, this part of the path is brighter to illuminate your way as well and to symbolize your own state of mind. Leave your past behind, do not hold on what you saw at the beginning, do not make “your story” out of it so you can hold again on something that is no more or with which you can identify with. Once you feel comfortable here, look around and observe and you will automatically see what is in front of you. You will see that there are some more gloomy parts on the path followed by more clearings, symbolizing your state of consciousness that will have some up and downs while you live your life. At the end, the tunnel path vanishes and you will find yourself on a beautiful open space. YOU allowed this space to be! ( submited to In the Moment )
A recent photo from my Trip to new york, i´m still there, till sunday morning. / Awesome city. / The photo was taken under the brooklyn-bridge, / very unusal for me to shoot land and citiyscapes… And when i´m back in germany i´ll promise to keep with portrait and my typical stuff. looking foward to your comment, and I surely dont want to insult one of the poor victims of the 9/11 attack, just my way expressing my thoughts about it..
I was fortunate to travel to Johannesburg with work, and while there was lucky enough to go to the “Lion Park”, on the Northern outskirts of Jo’burg. They have a large collection of rare white lion, and other “big cats”. The white lions are not albinos. They have a genetic mutation which changes their colouring from the normal tan to white. Their eyes are a beautiful blue and their eyelashes are also blonde!! The white lion are native to South Africa and can now be found in breeding programs around the world. They are still very rare and it was such a priviledge to see them up close. These are not technically my “best” shots. I took these using my compact camera (Canon G9) from inside a car with windows wound up, hand held at full zoom!! If you would like to see a few more pics I have made a collage of shots which is posted under the Collective Collage group. I have put this shot under the cat love group as it demonstrates the playful “cat like” nature of these beautiful white lion cubs. Thanks for looking!

My son sat there in such deep thought so I offered him a penny for his thoughts. Well the kid had the nerve to charge me a dollar(100 yen). I couldn’t believe it. What was even more unbelievable is that I actually paid... I was experimenting with the ISO 3200 that is available in my new camera. Straight from the camera and nothing is attached to the coin. It is flying. Camera: Canon EOS 40D / Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1600) / Aperture: f/4 / Focal Length: 50 mm / ISO Speed: 3200 / Exposure Bias: -1/3 EV / Flash: Flash did not fire

The funny sign actually read that way…wonder what boat would fit? A drive by, I almost missed seeing this, I was looking on the other side of the car so I just quickly snapped this one. I cropped some off the bottom and clarified a bit. Thanks for viewing. :)
This is what I meant by horning into the food by the Alpha pigeon. From straight on, they look a lot like fighters with their hands tied behind their backs, bumping each other sideways and trying to get “the front wing” in. But this time, BetaBird won by a wing and got to the prime spot first while also blocked his rival with a surprise “open wing tactic”! LOL!
Saw this sign on a phone box and could not stop laughing at the thought of someone trying to sleep inside. The sign was referring to the area around not the box but still looked silly and let the imagination run wild.
I love geometry and had a blast in Geometry Class….But having flowers around all those triangles and oblate spheroids would have been EXTRA cool!!!! / Fractal rendered in Oxidizer, edited in Photoshop Elements 3 and a photoimage added.
Centre Pompidou, Paris, France / Copyright This guy was selling souvenirs when policemen approached and wanted him to pack his stuff and go. Conversation lasted for quite some time but the guy won, he was obviously a tough case and policemen rather walked away and left him there together with his stuff :). Eos guarding her feet from tickles… Eos is a foundling… she was discovered as a tiny, ragged and filthy kitten by our two Chihuahuas when out on a walk. She was extremely brave and defiant, and the dogs’ barking didn’t faze her in the least! / She’s still quite the rebel, always coming up with ways of keeping herself entertained, weather it’s shredding papers and cardboard or playing fetch… / She’s just now started to purr, we didn’t know that she could! She’s also started to “knead the dough” when she’s snuggling, but she usually only uses one of her paws for that while keeping the other firmly anchored with her claws… / We never intended on keeping her, but after trying to find an appropriate, loving home for her, we realized that she had already integrated herself into our home and our hearts! / featured in For the Love of Cats and Tabby Time / September, 2009
