Taken in a back alley of Fitzroy – looking towards the back of the shops that face Brunswick street. This rusty old shed on the right recently sold for approx $600k
- A rare bit of graffiti that actually makes a statement, wow! / Recently fixed up the resolution so it is now available as anything from canvases to cards.

Here’s my famous red vinyl chair and red phone! These have been used in quite a few photo shoots now – although, this is the first photo where the two items get in the limelight. This laneway is located near Hosier Lane in Melbourne, adorned with graffiti and stencil art. Getting the phone to the laneway from the carpark at Fed Square was easy. Getting the chair there wasn’t!
This is a collaboration with the incredible photographer Paul Louis Villani. I love his work so much I think I will do another one! All profits from the sale of this pic from red bubble go to the Fred Hollows Foundation.

Melbourne Doors – These two doors are actually separate but lie within the same alley within the CBD. I combined the two to include as much graffiti encroachment as possible! Hope you guys like it!

During the dark of night life forces people to become completely honest with themselves. It is also a stage in which life strips people of all thoughts about themselves created by the society they live in. No red carpet today, but a backdoor in an alley and even the backdoor is closed. Will we experience the light? Not yet. We are still in a stage of darkness and we have to fight for the light. We have to fight for acceptance in our art. Does the closed door represent the need for acceptance, the ripped shirt nothing to hide. Be courageous and honest about your art. thank you to twinkletwinkle for being the eye behind the lens
A night shot of an alley in Vittoriosa, Malta. This town was the residence for the Knights of Malta before they built Valletta. Vittoriosa is one of my favorite shooting grounds. One day I decided to give it a try at night. I liked this alley the minute I saw it. Problem was that all street lighting was yellow. Still I went ahead, set up my tripod and took a few shots. Back on my computer, I didn’t like the yellowish cast. So I desaturated and painted back the yellow on that one street lamp at the bottom of the alley. Nikon D70 / Nikkor 18-70 f/3.5-4.5G
A wider shot looking down Presgrave Place just off Little Collins Street in Melbourne’s CBD. Also the same alley in which this photo was taken. Click here for my other images of laneways and graffiti. Click here for my other images of Melbourne

Went on a little stroll around the city today to shoot a couple of laneways with Flamegirl for Laneway Magazine who requested some shots of this little spot. This is the same lane as shot in my Hosier Lane but up the other end facing the other way :D I’ve been using HDR sparingly lately but it helps to bring out so much character in these laneways that I simply can’t resist. This is also one of my first goes experimenting with the square format too! / Settings Canon 5D, 17-40mm f4 L USM. Another one of Melbourne’s magical lane ways. This one runs between Bourke Street and Little Bourke Street. I love the industrial urban grunge this one has. The graffiti on the bin in the foreground reads COOKIE, as the building at the end of the lane way is The Curtain House, a multi level building housing Cookie, The Toff In Town and the Rooftop Bar & Cinema (in summer). This particular lane had a dark feeling to it. Although not overly dirty or strewn with rubbish, I could imagine the underbelly of Melbourne meeting here for some illegal operation. Do we have assassins in Melbourne? If we do, I’m sure this would be the perfect crime scene!
