“Rainy Day On The Mulberry River” / Fall has arrived!!!!! As Is…...... / Canon PowerShot S3 IS Sometimes during the fall season, Arkansas is subjected to rain storms rolling in. It makes the light for photography a bit more difficult, but it doesn’t dampen my spirit because it sure adds mood. With the cool air meeting the / warn air, in comes the fog, adding a warmer touch to the otherwise bold colors of this fall scene along the Mulberry River. This shot was taken by turning off from Highway 23 South, also known as the “Scenic Pig Trail Bypass”, on to Arkansas State Highway 112. A lady out watering the crops on the way back from Ha Long Bay to Hanoi. Was taken out the side of the bus window on a horribly bumpy road so is not as sharp as i would like but I’ll take what I can get. Unfortunately travelling in a group restricts the amount of stops a long the way :( Taken with a Canon 400D at 75mm, 1/2000 sec @ f 4, ISO 400 Cropped in Lightroom for a tighter non distracting composition

Combination one room school house, church, community building, and town hall. These structures are scattered through out the Ozark Mountains, and the foothills of Arkansas. Sooooooo…... These types of scenes are very familiar to me, living here in the good ol’ natural state. My very first years of school began in a one room school house almost identical to this one, and it is now long gone.. When I look at this photograph, I can still see us all running, and playing in the school yard, and hear all of our laughter, and screaming. All the sounds of the children playing, as we went along in our merry, carefree younger days. I remember…........

Boo Cat was mom’s flat faced persian cat. / When she had to move in with Marie and I / because of alzheimers, Boo came with her. / Maries and my name for him was ‘Mr Horrid’. / Even with his personality disorder, he / eventually found love. Moral of story, there is / hope for us all :-). This is a memory painting. / We laugh now after these many years.

Perhaps the older girl is the little one’s mother or sister, perhaps she is sensei passing down instructions on how to tend the flowers. The little one wears a floral kimono in keeping with the theme. A pencil drawing on paper coloured digitally.

Very secluded country road in Arkansas displaying its gorgeous autumn colors! I can get lost for hours on these roads, drive 3 miles an hours…. take in all the views of nature, and never be in the way of the regular hustle, and bustle of our normal busy world. When I want to stop and take a photo, there is no one in my way, nor am I in anyone elses way….....cause way out here there is NO ONE AROUND….. just me, and nature!! Its a fun getaway for a while!! / / /
