  • Taken just before leaving Phillip Island over the Easter break in April 2009. Sunset wasn’t to bad but just as I had ran over from the rocks around the corner I missed the best of the colour by around a minute. Still pretty happy with this one though, hope everyone had a good easter! One of the photos in my Phillip Island series, please click here to see the rest of my images in the series

  • A father and his son fishing off the rocks at Newhaven, I never thought to find much beauty in this spot but the evening sun lit up the rocks beautifully and it was so still… Featured in the Hunting and Fishing in the Great Outdoors group on the 16th of April 2009 One of the photos in my Phillip Island series, please click here to see the rest of my images in the series

  • This is the S.S. Speke shipwreck at Kitty Miller Bay, Phillip Island. I woke up early to come see the sunrise here on Saturday morning but the whole sky was overcast, there was no colour at all and the tide was way too far out. I ventured back on Easter Sunday and thought it might look good with the afternoon light so I put on every filter I owned to try and get a long exposure. Taken with my Canon 40D and Cokin P-series filters. Two ND4s and a polarising filter to bring out that colour. • Taken just near Grossard Point at Ventnor, Phillip Island, Australia. My extended family use to have a house just minutes from here and we used to always walk along this part of the rocks. I always loved the red rocks in this area and wasn’t at all disappointed when I came back to get a couple of photos of them. • Taken at Rhyll early in the morning when the tide was way out. On the way back from Cowes to Woolamai I thought I might stop by Rhyll as I had never been there before even after all the years we had a house there. I spotted this boat tied up in the mud and couldn’t resist a shot. My shoes sank into the mud real deep and had to give the tripod a good clean. Taken with my Canon 40D with polarising and graduated filters. • Taken at Cowes, the largest town at Phillip Island just before sunrise. 5:30 am wake up wasn’t much fun but it was soon forgotten after I drove to Cowes and starting firing off a few shots. Taken with my Canon 40D with grad and neutral density filters. • This one was taken at Berry’s Beach at sunset, the waves in the distance were absolutely huge and were smashing against the rocks so hard. Fired off a couple a bit closer to the waves but then retreated. Even though the tide was going out it was pretty scary. Taken with my Canon 40D and 10-22mm wide angle, with grad and polarising filters attached. • Remains of a pier at Cat Bay, on the North West side of Phillip Island not to far from the famous Nobbies and Penguin Parades. I thought this spot would be best at high tide which unforunately fell in the middle of the afternoon but thankfully some sun rays started to burst through the clouds over head creating a nice picture, and yes I got very wet feet. Taken with my Canon 40D with polarising, Grad and ND filters to lengthen exposure. • This one was taken at popular surfing spot Cat Bay on the North West coast of Phillip Island in Victoria, Australia. Got here with the hope of getting some nice long exposures of the high tide coming in and then the clouds opened up… Taken with my Canon 40D and 10-22mm wide angle lens as well as poalrising, graduated and ND filters. • A magical spot overlooking the Pinnacles at Cape Woolamai, Phillip Island. This was such a dangerous spot overlooking the area and I don’t recommend anyone try this at home! There was about a meter before the edge (look at the little shrubs in the bottom right hand corner) of the cliff, was such a magic place though and I can’t wait to come back here again soon. Taken with my Canon 40D and grad filter just as the last colour was starting to fade from the sky. • Taken as the sun set over to the West, was a tricky place to walk around with a camera and a tripod! This place is magical and it was well worth the hike in, even if I didn’t have a torch with me to see on the way back. Taken with my Canon 40D and 10-22mm wide angle lens as well as grad and ND4 filters. One of the photos in my Phillip Island series, please click here to see the rest of my images in the series

  • Looking out from one of the boardwalks towards Seal Rocks, The Nobbies and the blowhole in the bottom right hand corner of the image. Light conditions were less than ideal but I just had to make do. There were so many kids jumping and running along the boardwalk which made it pretty hard to get a still shot. When walking back to the car we saw a penguin hiding under one of the boardwalks, don’t think I’ve ever been so excited in all my life! • A collection of images taken over the Easter weekend at Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia. Phillip Island is about an hour and a half drive South-East of Melbourne. Places shown include famous landmarks such as the Nobbies, Cowes jetty, Pinnacles at Cape Woolamai and S.S. Speke shipwreck just to name a few.

  • Under the pier at Cowes, Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia at Dawn. Taken at the same time as Beginning of a new day for something a little bit different. It was pretty chilly, windy and way too early in the morning for me, it’s amazing how much lens distortion you get with a wide angle lens! / Settings Canon 40D, 10-22mm EF-S. • Found this little guy running around the rocks at Newhaven just after the bridge on Phillip Island. He ran quick but as soon as I grab my camera he stopped for me :) Took this one with my Canon 40D and prime 50mm lens @ f1.4. • Taken at The Pinnacles @ Cape Woolamai, Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia. I loved how the colour of this rock was different to all those around it. I took many shots of the one rock but think I liked this one the best. I really loved this place and cannot wait to get myself back there, there’s so many different angles this place can be captured from and I want to find them all! Taken with my Canon 40D and 10-22mm wide angle lens. 4 seconds @ f14, ISO 100. One of the photos in my Phillip Island series, please click here to see the rest of my images in the series
