this image started life as a pencil sketch and evolved from there. The Double-mouthed sailtail generously tows his companion, Blockhead, across the Atlip desert. Blockhead shields Gorff from the watchful eye of the ever hungry Zylap. Their trusty, but aging pumpkin droid, brings up the rear.
Nakalele Blowhole truly a miracle of nature. A shelf of lava rock on the north shore of Maui eroded by the punishing sea until the waves created a vent that spews like a geyser off and on and when the llight of late afternoon hits the spray the miracle of rainbow color becomes apparent.
After posting Alien Birth I thought I should add something more attractive. So, in keeping with the ‘Alien’ theme, here is ‘Alien Beauty’. I’m no horticulturist, to me these are the yellow flowers of weeds with a black centre. But in infrared they become wonderful daisy-like beauties that might well have bloomed on some lovely, but alien, world. (the sideways thing happened again – reloading image while you’re watching!)

“Do you think he could be involved in some kind of important, top secret work for the government?” Reverand Brown quizzed Mrs Willoughby regarding her mysterious tennant Mr Woolworth. “Well Sir.. that might explain the surreptitious comings and goings, but what of those strange high pitched noises coming from his room and my little Henry going missing all of a sudden?” the woman asked, her voice heavy with concern. ” Oh come come my dear..” replied the vicar, ” Im sure theres a perfectly rational explanation…they are independent creatures after all..and indeed we both know how difficult it can be to settle in sometimes…especially if one is a long way from home…”
An immense predator planet has drifted within reach of overtaking a fragile planet in it’s path. Woe to the inhabitants as they succomb to the radiation and death rays eminating from this monster! / Inspired by some work and words of ozjami / .
One of my first picture taken over the week-end with the 1Ds Mark III. The dynamic range of this camera is simply unbelievable…
Lucky me :) Yay! I got to do the cover art for issue 35 of the / Andromeda Spaceways / magazine. Enough time has passed since publication for me put the drawing onto rb. It is a great mag, so if your interest has been tweaked, pop along to their site and get the online version. The story this image relates to is by Lettie Prell and is entitled, “Earth For Dummies”.
When I look at your image, I long to touch you, and paint you / Your curves are so exotic, in how they can be manipulated / I love to create layers of you, and discover every part of your hidden beauty / Your inner shadows, and outer glow are an amazing contrast that flows from your form / I love the texture of your palette to manipulate, and see the changes and saturations / Together we liquify in concert with each others mesh using just the right pressure, size and rate / All of our channel paths lead to one final merging of our layers into a final compilation of all that we know. The 8th entry of Alien Fingers. This is my best one yet (jmo). The fingers are holding this ball filled with. Well, you decide. Once again, a compilation of several fractals, blended into one image with CS2 using a gradient brushes and Ulead plugin particles to create the bubble. Looks like I’m loving my fractals. This stuff is wild. Anyhow, this image could be rated R, or maybe XXX. I am having to much fun! ....:-) All My Fingers Hope you enjoy! Add me to your watch list now
I got totally carried away and lost all perspective with this one. My poor old computer nearly melted. I have no idea what level of detail will make it onto the T-shirt. If anyone buys one, please bubble booth it so I can see. I think I’ll upload it as wall-art when I’ve got over my jelly induced migraine. / Here is the colour version /
Now for some fun.. This is for those who look at large view.. You have to look close if you want to get the most out of life.. The people here on RB make me smile and feel good inside.. Now maybe I can help one person smile.. Enjoy Don’t Wait To Say Hello With A Smile
As the Orgul approached the creature and their minds became one, the young Orgul’s thoughts went from utter fear to a great sense of elation, as was the way of the Bonding. I’ve used four of my photographs to produce this and I drew and painted the grey man and the creatures tail freehand using the spray can and air brush from Corel X3 paint. I also added a lighting effect from the camera effects tool bar which is how I managed to create the dull sun and deep shadows (also using Corel).

Somehow I just can’t get away from sunrise/sunsets, I think its a lot to do with the colors. / I sometimes amaze myself when playing with light & shadow,I wasn’t really going for this effect, but all of a sudden, it was there. This reminded me very much of the scenery along China’s Li river, yet the sun seems to say Japan, so I guess this is an oriental blend.
Portrait of me by my buddy Bruce. No post production work. A swirl of silk flags under a street light. Maroubra Beach. Sydney. Others in the series here and here
Blue Man has discovered the Lost Valley of the Laughing Gods, who have visited this place very long ago and spread their message of peace, good humor, and the journey of the soul far beyond a single lifetime, and they instilled in the locals the duty to maintain these teachings and keep the temple safe…
Imagine a frozen planet where the sun never shone and there was only ever winter…..
This is my first Music Inspired Art, this was a lot more difficult than you might think for so uncomplicated a scene. Please listen to this song, Let Joy and Innocence Prevail I can hardly bear to hear it ever since 9/11… Comments are of course welcome. “Let Joy and Innocence Prevail” I tell you of a girl, her husband was a soldier, / Gone to war in some strange country far away; / No word had come to her, but the rumors of great battles fought, / And dying in their thousands, and the world full of fear; As the day would turn to evening, she would light a pure white candle, / And place it in a window bright from where it could be seen, / As she placed it in the window softly without thinking, / She said, “Let this burning candle be a beacon” Let joy and innocence prevail, / Let joy and innocence prevail, / Believe that love will never fail, / Let joy and innocence prevail! And one night, asleep, / She dreamed she saw her husband fall / In a great white cavalry charge, And waking in tears, / She saw the candle burning in the window / She still had hope; And through the window / A man in the distance, / But as he came closer, / She saw he was a stranger; The stranger said, “I bring a message from a general, / A captain has been wounded, his life hangs by a thread; / He calls out your name, and he wishes you to come to him, / But the journey is a hard road, and you may be afraid” And she laughed and said, “No road could be too hard, for I am fearless, / A captain and a husband, I have gained this bright new day” / And she said with all her heart, she would fly to be beside him. / And her love would heal his wounds, restore him to her; Let joy and innocence prevail, / Let joy and innocence prevail, / Believe that love will never fail, / Let joy and innocence prevail! Let joy and innocence prevail, / Let joy and innocence prevail, / Believe that love will never fail, / Let joy and innocence prevail!
Out of the darkness .. / deep within our dreams .. / where scarey creatures dwell .. / the alien nightmare begins ..
