In the first quarter of the 21st Century multiple countries are planning to establish permanent lunar colonies. The reasons are many but one of the main reasons are for the resources of the Moon which can be made into components for the human exploration of Mars. / / There are some elements that are in abundance in the lunar environment that will help with the biosphere of Earth. Many scientists are working on processes that will alleviate some of the energy issues that have gotten worse over time. Though the orb called Earth is our home, we as a society are slowly degrading the quality of our home world. / / As we move out into the Universe by first placing permanent colonies upon the lunar surface then outward into our solar system, hopefully, we will take the lessons learned by mismanagement of our home planet’s environment to heart as we move out into the stars. To live within our environment and future environments will allow us to expand outward to new discoveries and worlds which will allow for our species to grow as well as prosper. At the same time the cautionary note should be at what cost to the environments in which we plan to place our imprint. / / Will the lunar surface be scarred with “robotic” strip mining? / Will we unleash environmental disasters by ignoring the history of our own societies mistakes? / Will we honor what we have learned to be more eco-friendly as we begin to explore the vastness of space? / / Only time will tell if we are a society which learns from our mistakes or a society that consumes at all costs even to our own detriment. / / Some groups that you may want to visit and join: / AW Welcome Center / EF Welcome Center / Globes, Spheres and Curves / DaDa Land / Boolean Art / Fantasy Art / Human and Nature / Light and Reflections / Disclaimer

I was once told Alice in Wonderland could be read as a metaphore for a trip to a mental asylum. Maybe, maybe not, there are so many theories about that book… but somehow it stuck with me, and here is my slightly demented Alice. 4th of my fair maiden rainbow, and last for now, I’m wondering what to do for the 3 remaining (orange, yellow and violet).

Please see here for more details Excuse the size, its really rather epic!

Original is oil pastel on paper. I just can’t seem to fully move on from the Alice thing.
-
An illustration for the well-known story of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, where she meets Mister Caterpillar. Who persists in asking her: “Who are you?” Done with oil pastel on cardboard, details added in with a normal pencil.

Vector Artwork / Contrary means: opposite in nature or character, and unfavorable or adverse – which i think are all quite fitting for yet another un-”sunshine and lolliepops” piece. At first glace, it does look all nice, and its really not! Consider a Dragon Snail good luck in your garden as it leaves a trail of diamonds, careful he doesn’t burn the place down. Excellent source for fire outdoors, favourite food: lotus flowers Found this one a bit more challenging for content – i still think it could use some more “groud cover” as plentiful as in: / I found Alice easier for ideas, as its a party, and there’s lots of things to have/take ;) / This one took around 2 days quicker, but is just in the garden…. perhaps some more garden impliments? it really needs more stuff, let me know if you have any ideas, and i’ll add them in. / Alternative Title: Mary mary why ya buggin’? (lol) /

Our own interpretation of Alice in Wonderland, with a hint of fetish.

Words are passing by, like trees on a road / You’re talking bubbles in the air / Floating around you, away and displode / Eyes opened wide, I stare / - Ellen Allien

Original is watercoloured pencil pre-wash. Alice begins to get frustrated with all those who offer help but are no help at all.
-
Watercoloured pencil drawing with a touch of computer magic. I was always intrigued by the farsical court in Alice in Wonderland. Children have a heightened sense of injustice.

Watercolours 40cms or so high www.pauldrobertson.com One of the reasons why I Still love water-colours. For skin, there is a certain surreal quality that is harder to reach with other mediums. the original is far softer. Hard to get good representations. Hard clay and salt, a cloudwall or a ground shudder. / Ions into charged air, thrashed flowers and chewed fingers, / blood on the corner of your mouth. / A topiary of flesh, vents of skin and / bouquets of lips pressed to mine. / Deep furrowed and rendered stone over a dull baleful, / challengeless and soporific stare. / Cold metal against my cheek in my ears and falling from my mouth. / Turn your face from mine again, close your wet dying eyes and / tilt your arching jaw at the sun. / Tread softly, tread sweetly step lightly with picking care / shoulders hunched and knuckles white. / Pink tongue flicking between white eating bones and pushed through a staring cry. / Hold my hand again like it’s truth, small and comfortless, pale and ugly and fragile. / Half-lit and only what it is after all. / Pinch my palm and let’s run and run and maybe scream, turning our heads / with our teeth chattering in the wind in the night. / Flayed open like a romantic on a stretcher; pull the lights from my eyes they are / crossed out with bright red chalk. / Miss a few pages and find me a space on the panelling, / arms crossed against the small of my back, / nails tight and fierce in the morning sun. / Words spread out around you scratched deep / and hard into the floor written puckered testimony punctured and called. / Pushed and held against the sky like a bad coin. / Seven lines misspelled and annealed, annotated and confessed. / Sealed and heated like that, like us, spoken and contracted. / Like us, always leaving. / Thick with motion. / Slow with deliberation. / Loud like a pane of shaking glass. Home now, go home my sweet born liar, A final glance at the corner swelled up inside / Changed accelerated ameliorated and broken. / Placed and turned once more; / Flecked with hardness and foam / Inappropriate like a sharpened twitch Collected and acquiesced / Like us / Tired and halting, / Clenched finger-prints over wet glass / and just one more FUCKING STEP / Wheeled and rattled and stabbed with a finger in the chest. / Chosen for it with a weave of threads / Exquisite and miniature, / Flush with their own heat / Heavy and viscous, slow with density / With care / With weight Like us, exhausted, hesitant. / Breathless and lonely, oh lonely yes / Tricked into empathy betrayed and reaching. As the light fades / As the game ends / As you close your eyes / Heartsick with it, / A hand hanging over the bedside / The other curled against / Your chest / Like a child.
