Woohoo! I am very happy with how the Alfa Romeo shoot went, I’ll upload pics as I edit them (have done 1 so far), I have loads to get through. We got to the location at about 7:30am, and the sunny came up just on cue, the sky was clear and the weather was great all morning. The location was Cerrigydrudion in North Wales, not far from Llangollen. It has some amazing roads and scenery, fantastic mountains! I might go back that way tomorrow to get some landscape shots, there are also some interesting little villages and rivers nearby (Pandy, Glyn Ceiriog), I could spend ages there, it’s really nice. Also, can’t wait to do my next car shoot! regards / Rob

Right, I have a week off to do some photography, woohoo! Hopefully my nearly due baby won’t come a week early either, or all my shots will be baby related. So, so far I have wish-listed: Chester Zoo – prefereably some good cat shots and some from the Tropical Realm (Reptiles & Birds) Glyn Ceiriog Valley – A wonderful place in North Wales with some great streams and rivers. For those of you not used to small towns, an excerpt from their website: / www.glynceiriog.org.uk “One of the advantages of the village is the bank being open once a week with the shop open daily as well as the two pubs it is home to.” Jodrell Bank Radio Observatory Imperial War Museum North – in Salford Manchester My friends Alfa Romeo 147 GTA Some church/graveyard shots. And some more of Chester which is where I live. Any suggestions for other locations in the North West would be very welcome. cheers / Rob

Wow, what a great time off I’m having from “proper” work! Took a load of landscape shots today (North Wales), and edited some more of the alfa romeo car shoot. I think this week is going to be spent shooting, and then I’ll be editing for a bit once I’m back in the real world. I’m just enjoying the freedom to go and shoot what I want when I want, it’s very liberating.. Hope everyone is well, especially those in the tornado ravaged parts of the US. Looks like a nightmare… : (

Finally got around to finishing editing all the Alfa Romeo pictures, came out with 16 fantastic images from the morning, which I am very pleased with. You can see them all here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rob_smith_photography/sets/72157603867108936/ Again, got up early in the morning to get some shots of the sunrise over Halton Wood near Cefn Mawr in North Wales, a really nice Wintery scene. Then progressed on to a waterfall I have found in the middle of nowhere! It’s in a place called Pistyll Rhaeadr, which took me ages to find! At 240 ft (74 metres) tall, it’s the highest waterfall in Wales & England, and I got there just after sunrise to find the light just perfect. I need to edit these pictures too, there should be a few good prints from these. I also got some infrared ones seeing as I had my other camera on me. This is a detail shot of an Alfa Romeo automobile which was exhibited at the 2007 Concours d’Elegance auto show at Meadowbrook Hall near Rochester Hills, Michigan. I think this might be a 1951 2500SS Cabriolet, but I’m not sure.

Oh yes, sums up the spirit (cliche) and passion (another cliche) of alfa romeos, doesn’t it? Gorgeous design, parked on a narrow, classic Italian street in a beautiful Italian town. I know the shot itself isn’t that good, but I couldn’t get above it enough to get the whole car in. Bosa, Sardinia. (Of course, the number plate wasn’t that dirty. That was me- didn’t exactly ask the owners if I could take a photo of their car. They wouldn’t have understood anyway.)
