I have not seen one of these in the wild, but seeing this one and another in the nature center where it is healing from an injured wing was still amazing. Because I know how majestic they are and can picture him in my mind flying free again one day.

I saw this old house a week or so ago…........ I looked at it with its weathered appearance and I thought of myself. I could actually see myself in this old house. It was obvious that it has seen better days….........If the walls could talk, no telling what they would tell you. But one thing , and one thing only struck me especially strong about this old place…....... Along with the good times, and the bad, through the storms and weathers of life…...... IT WAS STILL STANDING….......And no matter what, that was what meant the most…...... We CAN TAKE the old times and remember, and we CAN combine them with the new… DO NOT BE AFRAID MY FRIEND, For it is with upmost certainity that I tell you, IT MOLDS YOU AND MAKES YOU WHO YOU ARE TODAY …....... The Alabama Hills were the location of many American westerns. Here they are seen in the foreground with Mount Whitney, the highest peak in the continental United States in the background. I guess I should add that the Alabama Hills got their name from a Civil War ship that for some reasom the early settlers were fond of. The landscape is so rugged and wonderful. i hiked around for hours and only covered a small patch of ground.
