  • Now this IS my desktop photo and is one of my favorites, obviously. / I just wish I had taken this at a higher resolution. / The Kananaskis is the foothills area of the Rockies southwest of Calgary Alberta. There is a wonderful road from Longview to Canmore which has some of the most spectacular and available scenery for shutterbugs. A sunny day is just a recipe for a wonderful day of photography.

  • Peggy’s Cove is one of the most photographed locations in the world located in Nova Scotia, Canada. This tiny inlet boasts some spectacular scenery including huge glacial rocks, a tiny village of 40 inhabitants, and particularly the lighthouse. / The crashing Atlantic Ocean surf on these lovely rocks is fabulous.

  • Caught this storm on the horizon on the way home tonight, just East of Okotoks, Alberta. It is reminiscent of some captures I have seen of hurricanes…. Hope none of our neighbors suffered any damage.

  • This was taken at Sheep River Falls, Alberta when several kayakers came through. Some portaged around the falls. A couple of them made the jump.

  • I took this on the way home after a Christmas Concert by the Big Rock Singers and just had to share it right away. We have had a dump of six to eight inches of heavy wet snow lasting all day, causing me to shovel several driveways several times today. However, the absolute beauty of freshly fallen snow mixed with blue Christmas lights makes up for any of the day’s toils. Hope you like it.

  • Al Fresco Cats / Acrylic on canvas / Size: 505mm x 405mm I’m combining three of the loves of my life here – cats, gardens and food. / These two cats resemble a couple of cats I had as a child, Skittle (black and white) and Victor (marmalade). They are just deciding what to eat first, perhaps the cheese…as / there seems no meat available.

  • This is my tribute to Muntazer al-Zaidi. The legendary journalist who threw his shoe at George W Bush during his farewell visit to Iraq. Clearly it is based on Banksy’s “Flower Chucker” stencil which is based on a photo from the 1968 riots in Paris. I’ve tried to keep it faithful to both Banksy and Muntazer by illustrating his head as close as possible to the original press conference image, in the style of “Flower Thrower”. I also illustrated the shoe to fit his hand just nicely and added a bit of definition to the fingers. Love to know what you think. Good riddance George Dubbaya. Muntazer al-Zaid may be the thrower, but you certainly are the tosser. / / / / / / /
