  • Inspired by arkadi babtschenkos book “die farbe des krieges” i decided to shoot some portraits of soldiers. This one is a russian one. (everybody who understands german/russian should read this book, it´s about war,and about real war, not the war as shown in holywood, or the war as shown on cnn. Babtschenko is a russian war-vet from chechenya and after the death of Anna Stepanowa Politkowskaja he is one of the last russian critizing jounalist in russia.)

  • An Iraqi Army soldier’s assault rifle hangs from one of the many concrete barriers used as barricades and blast walls. Arabic graffiti written in charcoal from a warming fire, warns approaching vehicles to stay back or they will be fired upon. Mosul, Iraq Circa 2006

  • yesterday I attemped to have a conversation with someone about what consitutes a ‘real photographer’. rather that respond he reacted by telling me I’m a negative psyhco bitch, the only bad thing about Redbubble and should hurry out to buy razor blades and kill myself. no shit! I guess this means I’ll never be a ‘real photographer’ so to celebrate my freedom from the label of ‘real’ I’ve decided to concentrate on posting some UNREAL photographs. Here’s the first. This is a chance shot taken while someone slept in the set of an alternative theatre production some years ago. Vale Peter your real to me still though you are no longer real in a corporeal sense.

  • meh…

  • Pic of a friend holding a couple of rifles.

  • I took this photo during my four-day trip to Alaska in March 2008. It shows the Turnagain Arm, looking toward Anchorage from somewhere between Anchorage and Girdwood. The tide is rushing out, but the mudflats aren’t exposed yet. The gray chunks are ice. Photo Details: / Camera: Nikon D80 / Shutter Speed: 1/100 / Aperture: f/8.0 / Focal Length: 18mm / ISO: 100

  • November, years ago, near sunset at the Chilkat River, where around 3000 bald eagles congregate to feast on a late salmon run. It was a slow year when I went; there were only about 600 eagles. The sun came up at 10am and went down around 2:30, and did a little arc in the southern sky when we could see it at all. It was a great trip and I’d love to go back now that I have more skill and better gear.

  • These little bugs were all over these plants. This shot was taken in Cyprus with a channel mix play around back home. Do not know what the bugs or the plants are.

  • One of the first photos I took with my new camera on a trip to the Melbourne Aquarium. :

  • On our recent trip. I could not wait to show my 12 year old son squirrels. I was facinated with them when I was in the UK 27 years ago. We spent almost 2 weeks at my brother’s in France, and was told that squirrels play out in the trees every morning. Do you think we saw them…. no. It took till the last 2 days when we were in England to see them, and this was taken at Windsor our last stop before a 10pm flight home!

  • I was looking at my other Jelly Fish shot’s original and realised how much time I spent cleaning it up. So thought I would work on another that turned out pretty good. Lots of smudging and colour correction in PS, but I guess one would expect this through glass at an aquarium that has been touched by many fingers during the day. This was with a black background the other blue, so not change here. :

  • Were there is tourists there is pigeons, this is near the Trevi Fountain in Rome. Pigeons appear a great deal in my travel shots, and this is one I love with the water and the colours of the buildings, and of course the wonderful lamp posts. Watercolour filter applied as I liked the textured it added to the photo.

  • Took out visiting niece and family to the Melbourne Zoo today. Here is another of shots. Maybe I should have the safe filter on this one!!

  • Melbourne Zoo visit, just after feeding time, and the bears have one last look around just incase they missed any fish treats. They are quite amazing animals. I would hate to be confronted with one of these out in the wild….. and would I run….. no, not with a ‘bare’ behind!

  • Royal Melbourne Show 2008, Duckling from the Animal Nursery. They were in the incubator, hence the golden glow.

  • Children playing football on top of an AK-47. Signifying children of war

  • We stopped for pizza late one evening (11:00pm) at “Starvin Marvin’s” which is located at the beginning of the Homer Spit. This lighthouse is located right next door. It is mainly used as a bed & breakfast and not a true lighthouse.

  • The classic AK-47. Detail / Other Designs /

  • Ak-47 M16
