  • F-22 Raptor during the demo at 2007 NAS Oceana airshow. This plane and it’s capabilities are nothing short of amazing. I wonder how hot that exhaust is? My art with 1000+ views

  • Concorde flying over the Cliff’s of Dover. / Aviation digital artwork

  • The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was a World War II American fighter aircraft. Developed to a United States Army Air Corps requirement, the P-38 had distinctive twin booms and a single, central nacelle containing the pilot and armament. / Digital Artwork.

  • Heading west enroute from Moscow to London, this enduring sunset was shot from the flightdeck of an Airbus A320.

  • Shot this at one of my most favourite places – Tucson, Arizona…. the barren landscape just speaks volumes to me and the discarded fighter jet engines prove the perfect antithesis to the landscape.

  • This is actually the backup ASI on a G1000-equipped Cessna 182. But whatever… it’s an airspeed indicator. It’s for “flight junkies” (aviation enthusiasts), obviously. Wear it proudly :-)

  • 10-22 wide angle lens … / handy for those crowded situations. Photo Information: / 22nd October 2006 EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM / Focal Length: 10.0mm Aperture: 8.0 / Shutter: 1/800 / ISO: 100 Galleries / /

  • Affirmative Tower, both engines are on fire – we will ditch just short of / runway Zero Three…. pray for us all ….. My art with 1000+ views

  • Captured at the airshow in Langley, VA. The F-4 Phantom used to be my all time favorite airplane growing up, it was so cool to see one of the last few flight worthy F-4’s in this heritage flight formation. Trailing the F-4 is an F-22 Raptor and an F-15 Strike Eagle (lower plane).

  • The British Royal Air Force Red Arrows displaying some of their signature 9 ship formation flying skills. This image was recently taken during a rare US apparence at the Airpower Over Hampton Roads airshow in Langley, VA.

  • On June 6, 2009 this image won the Dramatic Skies challenge. This image placed 3rd on October 31, 2008 in the Taken from the Clouds challenge. • So this passed weekend I was taking some photos of this restored B-17G called the Liberty Belle. Do you ever just play around in Photoshop and then REALLY like how the changes affected your image? This is one of those for me. I know it’s TOTALLY over the top and I LOVE it ….... Hope you do as well. Click here to get more detail on this beautiful aircraft My art with 1000+ views

  • Capt. John Davis and Bombardier Lt. Carl Thompson are walking passed their bird to meet the rest of the boys for a few beers. Both can faintly hear music and laughter of men spilling from a tent near the end of the runway. Davis looks back into the setting sun, listens to the big radial engines still ticking from an earlier test flight. The distinct smell of burnt oil still lingers in the air. / “God I love that smell” he thinks to himself. / He gazes down upon the puddles of oil underneath the port and starboard engines. / “Hey, does it look like engine one is leaking more than usual?” John asks, turning to Carl who had his half smoked cigarette in the corner of his mouth. / “It’s been leaking more since Frankfurt”, Carl replies. / “Frankfurt? Yeah, I think you’re right”. Davis can still hear the screams of the waistgunner, when the shrapnel tore through the entire port side. / “Poor Sammy, he never had a chance”, Davis says. / Carl didn’t reply, just walked quietly next to John, the setting sun throwing long shadows onto the tarmac, making them both look like giants. / Both men knew that tonight they indeed feel larger than life, because there is no mission tonight. • A Piper Warrior with the caption “I’d rather be flying”

  • In Nov ‘08, Jan’ 09, and again on March 7, 2009 this image was featured in the group, Alaska ~ Beyond Your Dreams. Many thanks to Sharon Mau (and her sister, Karon) for honoring this image! On a road trip through the state of Alaska, we came upon this beautiful lake. I didn’t make notes so now can’t remember the name of the lake or its location. Taken several years ago using my manual-focus SLR Canon AE-1. This image was scanned from a film print. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Please don’t copy or download this image. • F-15E Strike Eagle from the East Coast Demo team performs a highspeed pass to wow the spectators at the Airpower Over Hampton Roads airshow in Langley, Virginia.

  • Captured this scene at the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, VA. The amount of aircraft on display in this museum is truly impressive. Later that day the owner took the P-51 Mustang for a flight which included a couple of low-level highspeed passes. The aircraft to the right in this image is a PBY Catalina. / Taken with the Nikon D300 and Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens. Light HDR processing applied.

  • Douglas DC-3 without wording Pencil on 14×17 Strathmore drawing medium 80lb. paper sprayed with lacquer. United airlines DC-3 makes ready for flight. The DC-3 was built in the 1930’s and is still flying today. Updates to avionics and engines have been made, but the basic airframe has been left alone. Just goes to show that it is truly hard to improve on a perfect design that meets so many requirements or fills so many demands. Cheers to Mr. Douglas!

  • 83 year old pilot conducting some pre-flight checks in the de Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk, while his wingman ensures the radio is set properly. These are the types of shot I just wished I would take more of. I am beginning to see the value of the human aspect of photography. Taken with Nikon D200, Nikkor 24-120mm lens, post-processed with ReDynaMix for slight HDR effect, Dodge and Burnt in CS3, and final Digital Lightroom edits. Check out this slideshow I created from that day This image is currently on display at the Walls Fine Art gallery in Downtown Norfolk, VA.
