  • Okay… I’ve recieved some quesstions about this shot. I took this at an airshow earlier in the year. The announcer warned the crowed that the plane was going to do a high speed pass approaching the sound barrier to create the cone effect (which appears just before breaking the speed of sound). Yes… it was very difficult to focus and pan to get this shot. Luckily, I managed to keep it in the frame. My equipment: Canon EOS 5D with 100-400L zoom. Thanks for your comments.

  • The Anglo-American Lightning Organisation is restoring to flight status a two-seat English Electric Lightning Mk T5, one of the world’s fastest and most capable supersonic interceptor fighters. We have a team of enthusiasts and professionals in the US and the UK working to refurbish and reassemble the former RAF plane XS422 and return it to flight status. The background is Lelystad airport, with the aircraft muesum “The Aviodrome”. / Which has the fame of having one of the few B747’s on public display. Digital artwork.

  • When it comes to military aviation photography, shots like these are just “it” as far as I’m concerned. Look at that vapor around the trail edge of the wing, is that not awesome?

  • This is an older image that I have been meaning to post. It was taken in 2006 during the airshow at Naval Air Station Oceana (Master Jet Base). Just several weeks later the F-14D Tomcat’s performed their last flight, as they were retired and scrapped. Planes shown in this image are from Strike Fighter Squadron VF-31, also known as the Tomcatters. (Based on Nimitz-Class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt – CVN71).

  • I’m not sure what kind of Mig this is but i though it was cool when i saw it flanked by a vintage truck and a resupply trailer. The real thing is located at Duxford Imperial war museum in the uk.   • PHOTOGRAPHED THIS F-15 C IN FLIGHT AT FT PIERCE FLORIDA AT AN AIR SHOW. TRYING TO CAPTURE THIS AIRCRAFT AT THIS SPEED IS EXTREMELY HARD AND ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. I MANAGED TO GET TWO GREAT SHOTS. MY CAMERA WAS MY CANON REBEL XTI LENSE WAS MY TAMRON 28 TO 300 AUTO FOCUS ISO WAS 400 ASA SETTINGS WERE 1/250 AT F 6.3

  • A restored Vulcan Bomber being ‘escorted’ into the Dawlish Air Show, 20/08/09, by the Red Arrows Display Team. / This was the first time in 17 years that these aircraft have been seen together at a show. For those interested in the Vulcan, I will upload one of the craft on its own, and I will be adding a journal with a few more of the pictures on. / I will not bore you with lots of pics of the same craft. / Also, I probably will not be uploading any Red Arrows shots as there are enough already on RB.
