This is actually the backup ASI on a G1000-equipped Cessna 182. But whatever… it’s an airspeed indicator. It’s for “flight junkies” (aviation enthusiasts), obviously. Wear it proudly :-)

I couldn’t believe it, went for a country walk the other week and was wandering along the banks of Lake Windermere in the Eglish lake district national park, I had my big zoom lens on my camera and was shooting some ducks just by the waterside and I heard this deafening roar, I turned to my left and this Typhoon came out of the Blue, I quickly put all the correct focus settings on my camera and whipped the camera up to the sky, focused and followed this beauty through the shot and snapped this one just has it was passing, ‘well done’ I said to myself, all of a sudden I was being woken up in bed by my good lady, ‘wake up, wake up you are gonna be late’..I was just having a fantastic dream, this really didn’t happen :-( LOL, Sounds like a good story though hehe, actually this is 2 shots in one, The Typhoon was shot at RAF Cosford against a white sky and the background is of Windermere in the lake district, applied a little motion blur to give that real speed effect too. / Pretty pleased with it meself.. / Both images shot witha Nikon D70s and 18-700mm lens and 70-300mm lens

When it comes to military aviation photography, shots like these are just “it” as far as I’m concerned. Look at that vapor around the trail edge of the wing, is that not awesome?
Captured this scene at the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, VA. The amount of aircraft on display in this museum is truly impressive. Later that day the owner took the P-51 Mustang for a flight which included a couple of low-level highspeed passes. The aircraft to the right in this image is a PBY Catalina. / Taken with the Nikon D300 and Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens. Light HDR processing applied.
Featured in the Faux Vintage Fictions Group – Thank you / / Charles Augustus Lindbergh (February 4, 1902 – August 26, 1974) (nicknamed “Lucky Lindy” and “The Lone Eagle”) was an American aviator, author, inventor and explorer. On May 20–21, 1927, Lindbergh emerged instantaneously from virtual obscurity to world fame as the result of his Orteig Prize-winning solo non-stop 33 hour flight from Roosevelt Field in New York City to Le Bourget Field in Paris in the single-seat, single-engine monoplane Spirit of St. Louis. Lindbergh, an Army reserve officer, was also awarded the nation’s highest military decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his historic exploit. (Ref: Wikipedia)

Douglas DC-3 without wording Pencil on 14×17 Strathmore drawing medium 80lb. paper sprayed with lacquer. United airlines DC-3 makes ready for flight. The DC-3 was built in the 1930’s and is still flying today. Updates to avionics and engines have been made, but the basic airframe has been left alone. Just goes to show that it is truly hard to improve on a perfect design that meets so many requirements or fills so many demands. Cheers to Mr. Douglas!
A restored Vulcan Bomber being ‘escorted’ into the Dawlish Air Show, 20/08/09, by the Red Arrows Display Team. / This was the first time in 17 years that these aircraft have been seen together at a show. For those interested in the Vulcan, I will upload one of the craft on its own, and I will be adding a journal with a few more of the pictures on. / I will not bore you with lots of pics of the same craft. / Also, I probably will not be uploading any Red Arrows shots as there are enough already on RB. I used my Sigma 70-300 Lens for this capture. Hope you like it. / Thank you for looking. Best Viewed Large.

It’s amazing what pops up in your i-pod…. had it on shuffle when I was working on this, & along came Wasted Days & Wasted Nights by Freddy Fender. / Call me crazy, but I swear some of that song went into the tones of this one…... [canon 1000D, tamron 18-200mm, 12 very annoying people labouriously removed, numerous layers & blend modes, threw in a couple of textures to help with the tones, as well a smidge of cyan…. & finished with a vignette]
