Synthetic polymer paint and newspaper collage on paper. / From a series called Dead Friends, about friends who have died from HIV/AIDS related illnesses. / John loved taking photographs. He was always running around with his camera up, his chinese workers’ cap on. He loved people and loved nothing more than to photograph people having fun. It seemed like his camera was a part of his face at times.

In many villages throughout Africa Young children struggle against loneliness, Hunger, Lack of human skills, sickness and disease. On top of all this, we see many children trying their best to care for their younger brothers and sisters. Here you see a young girl fighting the odds to provide for her younger brother. / What makes this situation for this child even worse is that She has villagers in TungaZuga who really care for her and her younger brother, but food is scarce and the villagers often struggle to feed their won children. They share what they can, but it is often not enough. Some children die so young. This is why I do what I do without any salary. God loves these Children. I believe all children are our children, and we can make a real difference in their lives. Friends, this is our opportunity to reach many like her. Grace, the twins and others are alive today because some on redbubble cared enough to donate money, skills art and time to helping us help these children. Early morning as I was walking around Kaban Village in remote Nigeria, I noticed children drawing water from a well. This was a long way off,so I used my Sigma 50-500 HSM lens, with a 2x Converter. I was amazing it came out so good, as I did not have my tripod. Normally any shake would blur the shot. After I took several shots, I stood and listened to them laughing and pretending not to notice me. Then the Holy Spirit brought a verse of Scripture to my thoughts. / “Therefore with Joy shall we draw water from the wells of salvation”. Gods well of salvation is so deep and never runs dry. You will find everything you need or ever shall need in Gods well of salvation. Quote: Job 29:15-16 + I was eyes for the blind, and feet for the lame. (16) I was like a father to the poor and took the side of strangers in trouble+. This is one of those moments in time which i will never forget. A very special boy and a heart of kindness. My Inpsiration and motivation to help these children is children like David. David used to live in Tunga/Zuga village about 300 miles from our mission center in remote Nigeria. This was taken in 2006 while on Mission to the area. David cannot walk at all, and crawls on his hands and knees. he was very ill when we discovered him sitting against his mothers house. David has polio, and this has paralysed him from the waist down. He was covered in his excrement and urine. There was only his mother to care for him, and she was also sick and lost the power of her left side due to a stroke. Last week we arranged to David and his mother to travel along with the twins to our Mission Center. There we will do what we can to care for them. We hope to raise money to buy him a special trike, which he can power with his hands. it costs £280-about $590. This will mean that Little David will be mobile. We have provided two to one girl called divine and a boy called Robert, through two kind supporters of our mission. This is extreme poverty at its worst. here you see a family of 6. living in their fallen down home. The roof is full of holes and the walls washed away from rain. At night there is no shelter from mosquitoes. When we approached them and spoke to them, we found out that the Father died, and the mother went away one day and did not return home. Only the old grandparents are left to care for their grandchildren. there was little food and only an old hoe to toil their small garden. their main source of water was from a river about three miles away. later that week we met a pastor and he told us the Mother of these children was found dead in the bush about sex months ago. The eldest girl about 7 years old was very thin and weak. A boy about 3 years old had a serious worm infection. Please help us to help families like these. / Each Piece of art you buy, will help greatly. PLEASE READ THIS. Philadelphia Mission is a UK registered Charity [Reg No: 1049410] This is David aged 11 years old, which I met in October 2008 while staying overnight in a small village. He followed me everywhere I went with his Brother and sister behind him. During the evening I would speak to David through Saidi and Joshua my mission workers. I had established from them they were orphans and that the Grandfather was doing his best to feed and care for them. Early next morning after we had a prayer meeting in the village, I was helping load our equipment into the Nissan patrol vehicle, and again David was with me. I spoke to him through Saidi and Said to him “David, I see that you really miss your parents”. He looked straight into my eyes and said, ” I am both father and mother to my brother, and everything to my sister”. Saidi and I both wept as this was not what we expected to hear. David’s words inspired us even more with great passion to help these precious poor, not counting any personal cost to us. Please Pray for David, his brother, sister and all these precious children who face terrible challenges each and every day. We are helping. We need you to help us. Synthetic polymer paint and newspaper collage on paper. From a series documenting friends who have died from HIV/AIDS related illnesses. Tim worked hard to set up volunteer services for people with HIV and AIDS in the early days and worked hard to educate others about life for people with HIV, right up until he was unable to get out of bed anymore.
Sophia is an orphan cared for by her Grandmother. life inTunga/Zuga Village is extremely difficult. poor harvests and now no clean water makes it hard just to survive. Since I started to work with the villagers in 2006, I have seen too many unessary deaths, especially among children.there are many children here who have lost father, mother or both. My Inspiration and great Compassion is from the very heart of God. I live my life to help bring relief and empower these precious people to live better , healthier lives and at the lest provide clean water and the tools to farm and grow better good quality food. Job 29:12-16 I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him. (13) The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy. (15) I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame. (16) I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out. 100% OF ALL PROCEEDS FROM SALES OF MY ART, DONATED ART AND DONATIONS MADE VIA OUR MISSION WEBSITE, GOES TO PHILADELPHIA MISSION, A REGISTERED CHARITY. WE WORK WITH EXTREME POOR SICK AND DISABLED IN ISOLATED AND RURAL AFRICAN VILLAGES. I invite all to Please visit Philadelphia Mission Africa Charity website: / http://www.philadelphia33.org/ This is Violet aged 15 years old. She works in the fields from sunrise to sunset. Her Parents are dead. Violet works the small plot of land hoping to grow enough food for herself, her three younger brothers and sick Grandfather. Violet has a disability caused by Rickets. This disease is common here. Her upper and lower limbs are bowed outwards. This can be completely eradicated with your help. Violet must force herself to work, or her dependants will starve. Please help us to help her and many more like her. This poem was beautifully written by a very talented poet and Writer called Adgray, here on RB. God Bless you for wring this fitting piece . DOES SHE DREAM. / Does she dream of dancing and movies and fun / this girl with the faraway eyes / Has she the wish to kiss Brad Pit / Did she cry when Heath Ledger died? / What does she wish for when Christmas comes? / an ipod or mobile phone? / Does she complain there’s no chocolate again / in the fridge when she gets home. We complain we don’t have enough to survive / Money to cover our bills / and purchase the service and goods we desire / AND the luxury home in the hills / But where does it say life must be this way / That we have and she has not / That our world be of greed luxury and games / and hers of pain and hard lot. I look in the depths of these faraway eyes / and I think of my own teenage life / How I struggled with that I was expected to do / and rebelliously got into strife / I look at my own daughter of fifteen years / And know how I fiercely protect her / I support all her learnings and all her dreams / and use all my wisdom to guide her. But they are similar these girls far apart / for my daughter also cares for her home / She looks out for her younger siblings as well / and is rarely allowed to roam. And I wonder if having is really a curse / for to have not enough creates stress / equal to that of not enough food / but granted the consequence is less I shall show all my children these faraway eyes / for this girl is also one of their peers / their ages are similar their wants must compare / how I long to abate all her tears / I cannot succeed in my western world life / I struggle myself to survive / But oh how I wish I could lavish life’s gifts / On those beckoning faraway eyes.
