watercolor painting 18” x 24” on Arches cold pressed paper The Aguasabon (pronounced Ah-gwa-saw-bon) Golf course in Terrace Bay has a club house that is nestled at the base of terraced land above which, until recently closing, the pulp mill belched white smoke into the air. Although it’s a relatively short golf season north of Lake Superior, the location is beautiful and it’s a charming 9 hole public golf course.

The Aguasabon River flows into the north shore of Lake Superior, in Ontario, Canada. It originates in Long Lake, is 70 kilometers long and drops about / 30 meters near Terrace Bay. The bedrock in the area is about 2.6 billion years old, and the river follows fractures in this bedrock until it reaches Lake Superior. A well-maintained walkway allows excellent views of the gorge and the various flora which manage to find root on the cliffs. Taken in Late August 2006, Sony DSCF828 camera. /
