ELLE Photo best viewed large. ELLE was FEATURED in the group:THE SCAVENGER / HUNT / / / Somewhat more compact than most hybrid teas, this vigorous, award-winning rose is ideal for small garden areas or large containers. This beautiful, light pink rose would be the shining star in any landscape or indoor setting! ELLE is favored amongst most florists, and its’ buds are the perfect attraction for any corsage, bouquet, or basket. It is easily recognized for its’ soft, silky petals and beautiful blooms. This beautiful rose blooms in early spring and will last throughout summer with proper care. Excellent disease resistance and very dense, glossy green foliage make this new rose a winner in any garden! / Pink Roses have a very rich history of meaning and symbolism. Light pink roses have come to symbolize sympathy and grace, while dark pink roses stand for admiration and appreciation/gratitude. Mauve roses mean beauty, love at first sight, and enchantment according to the Victorian Language of Flowers. / For the the History of Pink Roses, go to ALL ABOUT PINK ROSES / / Photo was shot with my Canon Digital EOS 40D. / Lens used: Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS*

  • It was a lovely day in September! Just three months ago! And ever so different. It is good to be able to look back … and to look ahead by looking back. Green times shall come again. Taken near Maartensdijk on an old straight country-lane which is partly lined by wonderful old beech-trees and indeed is great for cycling. Near Maartensdijk, 21st September 2008, 10.22 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 70 mm / F 6.3, 1/50, ISO 400

  • 65 years ago many young men answered the call to free Europe from an evil empire that was called the Third Reich. Many unfortunately made the ultimate sacrifice during operation Overlord or D-Day and the many months to come thereafter. Godspeed my fellow Veterans.

  • In South Australia’s mid-north there are many towns whithering away. Once centres for the surrounding farmlands, they are now bypassed for the larger regional centres and cities. / The only thing that passes through here now is the breeze, as it blows through theweeds and native flowers, now permanent features of a once proud railway station and platform. / Manoora – situated between Saddleworth and Burra

  • I can't see nobody...
    by Keiran Lusk

    US$5.65–US$129.20

I can’t see nobody (I love the Nina Simone remix) I walk the lonely streets; I watch the people passing by. / I used to smile and say hello. Guess I was just a happy guy. / Then you happened, girl, this feeling that posesses me. / I just can’t move myself. I guess it all just had to be. I can’t see nobody…no, I can’t see nobody. / My eyes can only look at you…you. I used to have a brain; I used to think of many things. / I watched the falling rain and listened to the sweet birds sing. / Don’t ask me why, little girl. I love you and that’s all I can say. / You’re ev’ry ,ev’ry breath I take. You are my nights; my night and day. I can’t see nobody…no, I can’t see nobody. / My eyes can only look at you…you. Every single word you hear…is coming from this heart of mine. / I never felt like this before…a love like yours so young and fine. / And now as I try to forget you…it doesn’t work out any way. / I loved you such a long time ago…but in my eyes you’ll always be. / Every single word you hear…is coming from this heart of mine. / I loved you such a long time ago…don’t know why… / And I don’t know why…baby… I can’t see nobody…no, I can’t see nobody. / My eyes can only look at you…you. I can’t see nobody…no, I can’t see nobody. / My eyes can only look at you…you. [Creative Effects: Contrast/Brightness, Shadow adjustments, Omni Spotlight with Photoshop] Tweed Heads, February 2009.

  • Long Ago
    by Lois Bryan

    US$4.83–US$110.20

. / . / My husband and I, on our way to “Horseshoe Curve” ... an interesting local railroad attraction, found this amazing bridge along the side of the road not far from Altoona, Pennsylvania, USA. According to the plaque, this bridge was a part of the Portage Railroad. No. 6 of the 10 inclined planes, it was used to carry canal boats by rail between Altoona and Johnstown. This unique engineering feat was completed in 1834. The road was 36 miles long.
