  • When I was in the Ugandan bush, we visited this lovely woman. When she saw us, she told us later, she had pre-determined not to believe what we had to say though she was open to listen to us. However, she saw the wisdom of what we shared and because she embraced the reality of where she was in her life, she willingly received.

A poem which shows the inevitability of life; we will all get old and die. Yet, some comfort is taken from the fact that life is carried on by the next generation and that we still have our memories. I also experimented with rhythm and form in order to mirror life: the poem starts with 3 lines per verse signifying childhood, it starts picking up speed as i change the rhyme and it turns into 4 lines per verse; a symbol of how life pushes on too fast when age threatens us. Then, towards the end it suddenly slows and becomes hard to read, also, the 2nd last verse has an irregular 5 lines to it, signifying old age. I ended it with the beginning verse as a symbol of how life goes on…

  • Dawn of Ages
    by Photofaux

Inky sky spawned an arc of hissing tangerine flame…an embryonic seed … ...a new era was dawning once again.

Ironic twist, as ignorance from extreme opposite ends of the intellectual spectrum, bear massive controlling influence in lives which are ‘worlds apart’.

  • unless I do something different, it will always be the same. / . / Here is something graphic. / . / simple. / . / Now for O’s story. Well this is of course, “O Yes”. Officially. They were welcoming, into dancing and so mellow. I recommend O, and it’s crowd. They are lovely. / . / sunset

  • The Irony that’s Crafted
    by Andres Rojas

    Growing old sucks…

Life is filled with irony. I think the ultimate irony in life is being yound and full of live just to wear out and end up old. I worked on a hospital a while back and whenever I saw younger kids being real anoying jerks, I turned my head to the side and saw old people. I thought….”Jesus! We’ll all be there some day!” .... Ironic.
