Regardless of whether you are in this for the money, or the love of photography, there are 3 “must dos” every photographer should do. 1. Join a camera/photography club. Hopefully there is one in your area. The clubs are full of people with so much experience to share, and some clubs have classes in everything from composition to lighting. Some also have equipment like studio lighting that you can hire, or try. 2.Try to sell your work through an agency. This can be the most humbling of experiences as you deal with rejections. It is a great way to learn what those who are in the business of selling really want. It is also a great way to increase your resilience to rejection. 3. Read, read, and read. Everything from magazines that have nothing to do with photography to newspapers. You are researching the latest techniques, the latest fads in what is popular, and you are seeing what others are selling. Hope you enjoy my series of information.

Please, note the cat is caged because it is a cat up for adoption at our Pride event in Columbus, OH. The cage was, necessary to present the cats to the community and maintain their safety while being presented at a large, outdoor event. This cat is not being harmed, but being, potentally, rescued into a loving home. My intent in taking the photo was, is: I thought his/her facial expression was funny, in the cats determination to be out of the cage and get adopted. Also, to promote awareness to the importance of supporting animal, adoption. So, if the cage, bothers you then go out and adopt! Unfortunately, I could not adopt this, cat due to owning two, rescues already. If you are looking, for a cat or dog please, check with your local rescue, agencies first. If you are local, to Columbus, OH and seriously, looking for a cat or dog I will happly, provide information on local, rescue agencies.
