Hard work life - / decades of proofs and tenacious days. / And now a prayer – not kind nor soft. These hands know life.
How many tales would this old farm truck tell, if it could speak? Tales of cows and hay, milk and silage. Tales of farm life and farm workers. Tales of bitter cold, tales of stifling heat. Oh, the tales it would tell!
An aged lady in sunny Madrid…looking rather confused… Taken with a DSLR Olympus E-420, set to Auto (can’t remember which lens sorry!) I selectively reduced the saturation of the lady, then adjusted the hue of different areas of the background, and increased the contrast of the figure in the background. That was it. Easy peasy.
An elderly woman walking alone into the woods of Lorsbach, Germany. The orange colors paved the way into a magical forest as her image faded away slowly into the woods.
This is the hand of a hard working man. A man who used to get up at five o’clock every morning and walk several miles to his workplace. A man who went back to work after his retirement because he was offered a position and couldn’t stand the idleness. When he became a widower, freshly retired for good, he chose to occupy his mind with hard physical labour, restoring furniture, and volunteering to clean up and maintain the cemetary where his own parents and family were buried. He’s also a man who won’t listen to his doctor’s advice and will not hesitate to do any work when there is work to be done… even at nearly 81, even with a heart condition. A man from another generation, like we almost can’t find anymore… My father-in-law! during my holidays I’ve visited a zoo where I found this Galapagos tortoise. / this fella was really fun to watch, as a small bee was sitting right on its nose and the turtle desperately tried to get rid of it – obviously it was tickeling its nose…. anyway, the bee stayed where it was, the turtle took it with the wisdom of age, and in the end the two became friends…or it seemd like it location: Happ’s Reptilienzoo Klagenfurt / Canon EOS 40D / Canon 70-300 IS USM @ 130mm / 1/500s, f/5, ISO 320
