Afternoons are the signal to relax and enjoy the night ahead, aybe a walk on the beach or a long dinner and conversation with friends and family – the choice is yours!
Photograph layered with several papers. Flower given a hand tinted effect and I added a touch of whimsy with the butterflies fluttering over the shadow.
This is a view of my wall behind my computer with the light coming through my blind in the afternoon. I love the little patterns it makes on the wall and I couldn’t decide which one I liked most so I had to make a triptych. I hope you enjoy it too!
Thank you – TwinkleTwinkle for you fantastic Editing work! Model – Myself
Highfields is a region north of Toowoomba which follows the line of the Great Dividing Range. This view is facing East over a valley with the afternoon sun behind. This exposure was taken with a Meopta Flexaret IIa, on Fujichrome Velvia 50 RVP, then scanned using a Canon Canoscan 8600f and digitally processed. Being a Medium Format image, it will happily enlarge to 24 inches with no loss in detail.
I took this late on a winter afternoon, and i wasn’t sure if it would turn out. (a lot of the others didn’t) but this is as it came from the camera, FEATURED IN THE AS IS GROUP / FEATURED IN THE ALPHABET SOUP GROUP PLACED 5th IN THE AS IS GROUPS “BEST SHOT” CHALLENGE / PLACED 4th IN THE WEEKLY THEME CHALLENGE GROUPS “ANIMALS” CHALLENGE / PLACED 1st IN THE ALPHABET SOUP GROUPS “BEST OF L” CHALLENGE

Watercolor painting, 9×9 inches. This was a happy moment with my girls that I wanted to capture and preserve on paper. I hope they will grow up to be best friends. Painted on 140 lb Arches paper.
A large, dry, barren region, usually having sandy or rocky soil and little or no vegetation. Water lost to evaporation and transpiration in a desert exceeds the amount of precipitation; most deserts average less than 25 cm (9.75 inches) of precipitation each year, concentrated in short local bursts. Deserts cover about one fifth of the Earth’s surface, with the principal warm deserts located mainly along the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, where warm, rising equatorial air masses that have already lost most of their moisture descend over the subtropical regions. Cool deserts are located at higher elevations in the temperate regions, often on the lee side of a barrier mountain range where the prevailing winds drop their moisture before crossing the range.
part of a ttv (through the viewfinder) series Theory: / TTV (Through The Viewfinder) photography is when you use an old medium format camera and a digital camera. / These old medium format twin reflex cameras have large viewfinders. Firstly you compose your image using the medium format camera (in my case i have used a mamiya c33) then you actually take the picture using a digital camera (here i use my pentax K10) of what is in the viewfinder of the old camera.

Pastel on Colourfix paper (burgundy) 70cm x 50cm Late afternoon shadows mingling with a multitude of warm colours among the trees was what drew my attention to this scene. Dysart is an area close to Seymour and beyond those trees lies the Goulburn River.
