At the border between Vorarlberg and Tyrol, two westernmost states of Austria, the Ochsental valley is dominated by majestic Piz Buin (3312 m), one of the highest mountains in Silvretta mountain range, located on the border with Switzerland. / Glaciers on Piz Buin’s northern slopes, Ochsentaler Gletscher (on the photograph, it’s covered mostly by the green slope in foreground) and Vermuntgletscher (shown as a very smooth, snow covered area near the center of the photograph), give birth to Ill, one of the main rivers of Vorarlberg, which is captured here as a narrow brook finding its way through scree-filled bed, and between the lovely azalea shrubs. 28th June 2007, Canon EOS 300X, Sigma 28-135mm. Post-processing: sharpening, gradient, blend modes. More photographs from Vorarlberg:

“He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing. He wraps up the waters in his clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their weight. He covers the face of the full moon, spreading his clouds over it. The pillars of the heavens quake, aghast at his rebuke. By his power he churned up the sea…. By his breath the skies become fair…. And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! How then can we understand the thunder of his power?” (Job 26:7-9, 11-14)

After hunting in the first location for a couple of days, the three of us decided to pack up camp and head off to a different area. We ended up returning to a location that my dad had taken my brother when he turned 12, and did the same with myself when I turned 12. It was a father/son bonding experience for both of us kids that neither will forget. While my brother and dad hunted some more, I focused more on my photographs. There’s an unofficial track around the foreshore of the Tilligerry Peninsula, in Port Stephen’s, NSW. It is best walked on a medium to low tide, which ensures you won’t get your feet wet. However, if that doesn’t worry you, anytime is a good time in this part of the world. The walk passes through the beautiful Tilligerry Habitat Reserve, a tranquil 9 hectare, wheelchair friendly reserve through which winds paths and boardwalks; along the foreshore and through a swamp mahogany forest inhabited by ferns, wild orchids, frogs and Koala’s. As well as being the enviro. centre for the peninsula, the Tilligerry Environmental Centre is home to an art and craft gallery, displaying many works of local artists.
Taking a Visit back to Qld to visit my Parents the weather was not on my side with rain for all four days I was there, but on the last morning, I got up at 4am and went down to the water front and tried my luck and it turned out to be a glorious morning!!
A perfect Late afternoon on the foreshores of Adelaide and I came across this beautiful shot of a seagull taking a drink with amazing views in a Seagulls Paradise!
