Late afternoon sun going down and standing on the reverse side of the Causeway to Granite Island South Australia. The light shining through under the structure from the setting sun was quite vibrant especially with the backdrop of a brooding winters sky. I know I have many images of this on my site but I just love the way it changes with every visit. Plus having my fathers ashes spread off the Causeway makes this a special place to visit. HDR merge of three images within photoshop.

Finally I got out amongst the autumn trees today with two of my photography students. Plus I had a little time myself to shoot some of the trees in Yoyogi Park on what was a beautiful day with gorgeous light. This pic is currently in the ‘Zen’ competition at JPEG magazine. One of my most favourite places in the Blue Mountains is Mt Hay. In the afternoons I often used to go and sit out there and draw or meditate… I have a lot of memories surrounding this place. When we moved I wanted do a painting of the view from where I used to sit… so this is another of my ‘firsts’ after a long layoff. It was a painting ‘I needed to get off my chest’ ... so to speak… : ) I don’t think the photo really does it justice but still… here it is! Oil on canvas / 24×20

It was such a lovely day in Clevedon, UK. I had seen a picture a friend took of the pier and was trying to recreate it in colour. I hope you like it. Note to self, always were suncream on a sunny day, ouch. Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 70mm, f/16, 1/100 sec, ISO 100. No filters used.
