My second attempt doing a water colour a year ago. Wanted to hide it as it was the hardest thing to do. Boys of Busia, Kenya, East Africa. They were the children of women working in a cooperative sponsored by an international NGO. Thw women made and sold cooking oil (from sesame and peanuts) and bricks for building.

I got inspired to do this after reading an article about the damage that cheaply sold AK-47s has taken on Africa. / The Article Prismacolor Color Pencils / on Recycled Paper
On a geography assignment in an informal settlement, I stumbled upon these children. The photojournalist in me inspired me to take this shot. What I love most about this is their varied and contrasting expressions.
While visiting the small village of Manyane in Botswana, these lovely kids stayed close to me until I asked them if they wanted their photo taken.
