  • I know there are thousands of sunset shots, but this was a special one for me. If only the moments of a sunset could last all day.

  • Being an artist allows me to experiment in different styles. From abstract to impressionistic, from rennaissance to realistic, from naive to contemporary….. But it is impossible to completely hide my recognisable style when the artwork is finished. You will find it in the eyes of people & animals, and the bright colours I so love. I have found though that my style changes with each commissioned painting I do. I tend to stay with the style of the last painting I painted until I do another commissioned painting. In this calender I chose a variety of styles I’ve done so far. You decide which style is your favourite!

  • Captured at Titchwell Marsh, Nr Norfolk England UK. The ruff is a medium-sized wading bird. It has a long neck, a small head, a rather short slightly droopy bill and medium-long orange or reddish leg. In flight it shows a faint wing-stripe and oval white patches either side of the tail. It breeds in a very few lowland sites in eastern England, and it appears that numbers are dropping. It is a migrant but in the UK some birds are present all year round. Many young birds from Scandinavia visit the UK in late summer, then migrating on to Africa. Best looked for on passage in spring and autumn in suitable habitat, particularly on the east and south coasts of the UK. Some birds overwinter, generally near the coast. Try some of the RSPB coastal wetland reserves, where there are lagoons, such as Titchwell, Norfolk. What they eat Insects, larvae, frogs, small fish, seeds
