“The Values of your Heart” When your world seems frustrating, keep in mind that the most important part of you exists beyond those frustrations. When life feels painful, never forget that the pain, however difficult it may be, is confined to just a small portion of who you truly are. / All around you are things you can see and touch and physically manipulate. They are part of life, but they are by no means all there is. You cannot hold love in your hand, and yet you know for certain that it exists. You cannot capture joy in a box or an envelope and yet you have no doubt that it is real. When the outward concerns of life seem to be overwhelming, remind yourself, there’s more. There is so very much more to living and being than those things you can see and hear, taste and smell, touch and possess. Even those losses and disappointments that feel big and burdensome, are small in comparison to all the beautiful, positive possibilities living within you. Look beyond the noisy, superficial distractions and remember the miracle of your existence. Live your life around the values in your heart. And those everyday pains and nuisances will lose their power to bring you down.

So, I know I have had countless emails over the years with affirmatons and positive messages which then go on to threaten certain immediate and grim death if you don’t forward onto 30 people within 5 minutes :/ And I am sure you have too. / But occasionally you get some of those messages that really do inspire or strengthen you…. / This is one of those times. I read something like this a few years back but the reminders were nice to get today and I wanted to share… I Believe… / That just because two people argue, / it doesn’t mean they don’t love each other. / And just because they don’t argue, / it doesn’t mean they do love each other. I Believe… / That we don’t have to change friends if / we understand that friends change. I Believe… / That no matter how good a friend is, they’re going to hurt / you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that. I Believe… / That true friendship continues to grow, even over / the longest distance. Same goes for true love. I Believe… / That you can do something in an instant / that will give you heartache for life. I Believe… / That it’s taking me a long time / to become the person I want to be. / / I Believe… / That you should always leave loved ones with / loving words. It may be the last time you see them. / / I Believe… / That you can keep going long after you think you can’t. I Believe… / That between best-friends there is ‘unconditional love’, acceptance, and understanding. If there is anything youcannot discuss with your Best Friend, for fear of anger,or rejection…. you need to shop for a new ‘BFF’! I Believe… / That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you’ve had and what you’ve learned from them, and less to do with how many birthdays you’ve celebrated. It’s easy to blame someone else for your troubles. Yet when you’re truly honest with yourself, it’s clear that blaming someone else will not add the slightest bit of value to your life. / It seems fair and reasonable to expect your problems to be solved by the people who caused them, but stop and think about it. Do you really wish to give those people who caused your problems any additional control over your life and your future? To move your life in the direction you choose to go, you must be willing to take full responsibility for it. That means moving past what’s easy and accepting that things are not always going to be fair. Perhaps life has given you a burden you don’t deserve. Instead of seeing that as an excuse to give up, see it as an opportunity to give more. Though you may not have brought the troubles upon yourself, you can nevertheless make positive use of them. Choose to take full responsibility for your own situation, and you’ll begin to see how you can rise from it to a level that’s higher than ever before. Real success does not result from everything going perfectly. Real success comes when you’re willing to move forward no matter what may happen. KEEP SMILING, KEEP MOVING FORWARD :)
