Two tiny leaves drift upon the surface of a single raindrop, held with care in the centre of a larger leaf in my garden…... / What amazes me, are the tiny drops of water that these minute leaves also hold close, as if every leaf has to preserve it’s own little store of that precious shower of rain….. I have been playing with a Nikon 105mm macro lens, still getting a handle on it… but heaps of fun as it shows me things my eyes just could not see by themselves! • Something a little minimal….. I love a minimalist abstract or fractal, there’s just something about them. And you just don’t see all that many minimalistic fractals. To me, fractals don’t always have to be a wild explosion of design and color, there’s a place for the subtle too. I love both ends of the spectrum,,, the fractals that shout & the fractals that whisper. As for this one, I tried to incorporate the negative space as part of the image itself, & not have it just hang there as a lifeless piece of the background. White can be even more unforgiving than black so I gave it a wash of color to soften it & bring it into the image even more. All critiques are more than welcome ! I’d definitely like to know how I can improve on this. You may have to look full screen to see the lines a little bit better, or maybe not. Depending on your screen, monitor & eyesight I guess ! ;-) Created with Apophysis. Lauren

A painting making a statement of our climate change. Here the two Polars, one younger, cling onto a small ice sheet as it gets smaller. They have just swam 30 miles in search of food and are exhausted with no land or ice in sight.

The lonely figure stares forlornly atop the ice shelf as his crew ascend to the stars abandoning him in exile. In exile, or sentenced to death on this barren, frozen world. Yssenewworld, the last of the water planets in this part of the galaxy, is no place for the faint-hearted. No vegetation or animal life only primordial bacteria inhabit the icy waters. How long will our exile survive? / What are his chances of rescue? Will he ever get back to the planet he calls home. But on his homeworld there had been a coup. And now he is stuck on this planet. / “The curs”, he shouted, “How dare they”. The language was a lot stronger but I cleaned it up in translation. Repeating his outburst became futile as he accepted his fate. “No!!”. “I won’t let the bastards win!!”, he yelled. / .... end transmission . . . end transmission . . . end transmission Created in Bryce 3D and Photoshop.

This is how she remembers happiness.

a prologue to something bigger. on the same day i wrote this piece, i created this image, of the time of day i love and loathe equally… of fleeting gold that never lasts long enough. i realised afterwards that the two pieces were inextricably linked somehow to me. she made a list of golden things

A have what feels like a whole series of these, taken at Lindisfarne (Holy Island). While those inland enjoyed a beautiful summer’s day, I wandered the coastline here, with visibility down to a few hundred yards and no sign of the sun. It seems the entire east coast was clouded by sea fret. I’m not complaining, I made my choice and am happy with the images I came away with.
