It occured to me that if I leave one more comment on Lindsay Blamey’s work he will almost definitely think I am stalking him… hang on… this is probably worse. whoops. In light of Mother’s Day coming up, I really wanted to share a funny story about my daughter that just happened. A few minutes ago, my 3 year old daughteer (the one in SMILE, LITTLE SISTER, and a bunch of other images I have posted here) asked me. “Why don’t we have boyfriends” (she was referring to herself and her 5 year old sister…) and I said, “Because you are only three years old.” and she said, “Oooooh!” and I said, “Don’t worry, you will have plenty of boyfriends when you get older. You are beautiful.” and I asked her “Why?, Do you want a boyfriend now?” and she said, “Yes.” And I asked what would you do with a boyfriend if you had one???” And she said, “I just want to kiss him… that’s all.” I guess she is influenced by too many older sisters. LOL Anyways, I don’t normally share personal stories, but she is constantly saying the funniest things anymore. I never write it down, and I don’t want to forget. Was delighted to find out that “Lofty Ideals” received the “Today’s Best Award” , thanks to Zazzle :D And yes, I do draw other animals other than just the owls :D Many of you may not have seen this work as this was one of the first few that I uploaded here in RB. So I thought this is a good opportunity for the rest of you to know her better….a piece that’s close to my heart and maybe you can also identify with this painting. This pink sheep’s name is Knitto Pinko :D In this pic, she feels that she is unique and set apart for bigger things, not just another sheep under the shepherd’s shears….not just another digit on the farm….she faced a big dilemma…should she stay or should she leave? / You can view more of “Lofty Ideals” at my Zazzle Gallery. Part 2 of the story: Knitto Pinko submitted her resignation as head knitter to Farmer O’MacDonald a year ago. She decided that she no longer wanted to knit designs that she was in the least passionate about. Her dream was to have her own shop of knitwear, designed by her with 100% wool.Knowing her dream extended beyond the boundaries of this farm which she had grown so familiar with,she took on the challenges that awaited her outside nevertheless.There was no turning back since. She’s now busy with her knit creations which she fondly calls them “Knitties Gritties”. Hope you like the story :D

Thank you so much to all my fellow bubblers’ well wishes with regards to my joint exhibition show :D I’m most happy to update you with the news that The Dreamer was sold yesterday to a Belgian(they are called Belgians right?) customer! I was down at the show yesterday….just to see how things were and of cos I dont deny the fact that I hope to meet someone who will love my work enough to buy….so I went around looking at others’ works…then I came to my own…and I saw 3 men looking at my owls :D So I mustered enough courage to introduce myself as the one behind the owls…so to cut the whole story short, one of the men said his mum is a super fervent owl lover and he’s looking for a birthday present for his mum! I couldnt believe my ears and my heart was just leaping with joy! So now The Dreamer is going to reside in some part of Belgium and in the loving hands of a fellow owl lover! :D I brought my cam along and wanted to take a shot with this customer…and guess what..no SD card inside, I left it in the laptop, so no pics to show here today. He did get his friend to take a pic of us so I really hope he remembers to email me :D The painting looks exactly like the framed print above…black frame with black board within :D Happy happy! The day after I returned from my holidays last week, I received a delightful email from Zazzle that my “Celebration Of Life” keds had been sold! This was and still is exciting because I finally sold my first pair :D Just when I thought nobody loves my keds, a fellow bubbler,Cazzie came along and bought a pair (Thanks Cazzie!! This is a great encouragement to me!). I dont have any recent sales from RB but I am thankful that during the last one week, I had 8 sales which is a record for me…..and I am counting my blessings,no matter how small these sales are….because each sale came by not easy and I’m sure we can all identify with this sentiment :D I can now say a big thanks to the “drought” I experienced in zazzle during the first 2 months which has taught me to appreciate every sale made, in zazzle and also in RB :D And I also just found out from Fa that I have been featured as a fresh gallery over at Zazzle too, Thanks Fa for the info!! And Here / They / Are I’m excited. These scarves are all super long and look so cute draped around the neck. As you can see there are three colors, Blue Lagoon, Purple Pixiedust and Crimson Blood. The design for them I call FAIRYWING LOCKS because the individual folds look like little fairy wings :). I call them “Vestque Creations” because I kept seeing these whimsical adorable little scarves in my head. It was only a matter of finding a medium to create them with, just like any of my artworks. I met him by mistake you know. He was coming out of a public toilet in Liverpool with an amused twinkle in his eye and humming a Dylan tune. I wondered what he’d been up to. I thought that maybe he was a toilet-trader-cum-graffiti-writer. He spotted me and I tried to walk away but he came after me asking what ‘Tinkerbelle’ would be doing in that part of the world and reciting something silly about hippos, bears, deers and ewes and then, without even the slightest hesitation, he openly suggested sex in the same public toilets, saying that it had marvelous pink marble lavatories….as if sex with a leprechaun on a pink marble lavvy was supposed to be supremely enticing. He launched into something Shakespearian and then said something inappropriate for a first meeting like ‘mmmm….just us two together naked between white cotton sheets…..mmmm.’ I sat down on a park bench in wide-eyed silence and thankfully he seemed to have disappeared for a while and just as I was drifting off he snuck up behind me and licked my ear, whispering something about wanting to touch my plums before he deftly yanked at my skirt and said “what are you hiding in there?” as he guffawed out loud at the look on my face. I had sort of forgotten about him when he turned up unexpectedly again and took me off to a beach picnic. Obviously he had planned his seduction routine being as the public lavvy suggestion didn’t work. He really turned up the heat with divine Thai food and red wine and lots of Bhut Jolokia chilies. I was surprised at his subtle good taste and slightly fascinated at the unusual way he enjoyed his chilies and wine. He had on a blue silk sarong and my eyes kept dropping to his waist….or area thereabouts…. He never misses a thing, which is quite infuriating. Then he surprised me by hauling out his instrument, a guitar (that’s what some people call it) and serenading me all afternoon. I didn’t see him for a while after that as he seems to travel around all over the world. / I just happened to be playing cards with some sharks in a park in London during which I had literally lost round after round until I had lost all my clothing when he turned up out of the blue again and enquired solicitously as to my nakedness and, of course, sporting that amused and infuriating grin as he slipped his silk hanky through my belly ring. “Nice to know the curtains match the carpet,” he said as I stormed off and decided to fly south with the flamingoes, thinking I would never see him again. Coming in to land in a salt water pan in Botswana, the Makgadikgadi, to be precise, I swung myself from the wing of my flamingo and landed on what I thought must be a luxury mattress floating in the pan. “Still naked?” came a lazy drawl. Oh no! that all too familiar voice again. Yes, it was him. “What are you doing here,” I asked in a soprano screech. (He never, ever answers any questions directly.) “Oooh yes,” he said, “that’s the spot right there,” he said gaining color, as I leapt off him in horror. / I think it was when he took me on an elephant ride at sunset that I started to get really fond of him. It’s been three years now. He comes and he goes. He delights and enflames and enrages me. He’s turns up in the oddest places wearing the oddest outfits. A true eccentric. Somehow I think I’d miss that knowing grin, those twinkling eyes, that tongue in cheek humor always laced with spice and the many belly-laughs he has given me. I’d miss his ebullient joi de vivre and the extra ginger he always sneaks into the Christmas gingerbread and the funny faces he paints on them when nobody is looking. I guess one just can’t fight the destiny of an oddball friendship between a leprechaun and a fairy, no matter how it starts out. I’ve grown to love him. After all he did lend me his silk hanky.
