I originally intended this shot to be a picture of my son holding onto these balloons and taking off, floating into up into the sky … a fantasy, sotybook sort of image. However, my daughter immediately grabbed these balloons from him and started running off. So, as it turned out this eded up having a more realistic look than the one I originally intended, but I thought it turned out pretty cute with the desaturated colors throughout, except for the colorful balloons.

I just put this up to see what people think about it…? The back layer was a pencil sketch i did and it also had the two figures on it, but i played with it and put the other out line drawing on top / so yeah tell me if its good and worth keeping up here / i have done the sizing and all that yet, but if it gets good feedback i will! / xXxOoO

Flowers in her crazy ‘updo’ hair secured with a couple of chopsticks! Chinese Red Fan Girl stands before a warm glowing screen, patiently waiting for her little friend from Japan, ‘Little Blue Kimono’ to arrive. Chinese Red Fan Girl wears a pair of geta on her tootsies, a gift from ‘Little Blue’ The kanji symbols in the background on the screen translate into ‘One’s Dearest Wish’

The wonder in this little boy’s face as he watched his older sister breastfeed his little niece was beautiful! This private moment grew in silence as i watched his face mesmerised by what he was seeing. It was a moment for him of pure adoration for this tiny fragile creature and the beauty of motherhood, the three of them became locked in this moment and it will remain forever etched in my mind.

The bridge reminds me of an emotion of solitude, which is not to be confused with loneliness. The former leads to an internal peace and being one with nature and oneself while the latter was a feeling of being forced to be alone, deprived of freedom and choice. I used to call this photo “Peaceful Bridge” until a young patient of mine (at the time she was nine years old) explored the difference between solitude and loneliness. When the image was presented to him as an illustration, he exclaimed, “Oh, solitude is peace, inner peace!” And the true title of the piece was born. This was another photo I had shot several months ago. I’ve altered the original photo by creating a mono image and did a little dodge work in PS.

Like my kitten image I wanted to paint this little dog with some fantasy flair. This dog is basically my creation I don’t know if there are any dogs that look exactly like this in the world, I’m sure definitely not this colorful. I looked at a few photos of puppies and dogs to get ideas of what type of dog I wanted to create and paint. I played with different colors until I got a result that I liked. I wanted this dog to look very cute and mysterious much like my kitten image.

’’Asian Series’ card by Karin Taylor This is one of my favourite pieces in the oriental series. / Two little friends falling asleep in their little boats whilst fishing for their supper. / I really enjoyed mixing the colours for this painting, I used colour swatches from paint charts to decide on the colour scheme, and just went to work intuitively mixing til I got the right colours…they are grungier than my other pics and I love the effect…hope you like them too :D

Hope and mebbe lust and some mismatched socks that are still really warm?Poetry? / Sure - ‘Sharita’: Tired like the edge of the night like three fingers of an early dawn / scratching in the wet opacity dirt. / Sitting on my lap like a warm stone on a cold day. Given to me wrapped up in sweat and cotton and so real / so tiny / so real so / warm; something else / something different, / something new entirely? / History swarming up in both brains and clotting us / but sweet with exhalation (transfigured water-struck and full full full.) Each one a curled ankle an epic plan a throbbing / psychosis a gift a laughing sickness a gaseous truth.
