Abandoned
by amaricaOnce loved and adopted by a family, this little guy begins to slowly be edged out of their lives and finally totally rejected and abandoned.
Abandoned animals end up in the pound or run loose to be hunted and injured in a world they have no control over. They are “owned” or they are considered wild. There is no place in “civilization” for animals to be free unless they make their way to the wilderness and manage to hide from people and other predators. There are some people who truly do provide rescue and real adoption and long-term rehabilition for these poor babies and these are real heros. I recommend visiting these other RB’rs who care about animals and they donate their sales to the cause: Lucinda / Migkats / ecgardner / Whisperingruth This poem inspired the artwork “Help Me.” If you wish to view this art please click here

Something Inside
by dogpriestIt wants to be whole, / it wants to be one, / it wants to be a son. / But it will kill me, / because it wants to show, / my head, / the barrel …
This is and old poem, written 6 or 7 years ago, pissed and probably well fucked out my face, an old life. I wasn’t sure at first about putting these up on the bubble, but the road to recovery is sharing of the past, even if the past is hard to remember through fucked eyes. But I hope you like it anyway. dogpriest ; )

I have written this poem with absolutely no experience or knowledge of the subject. Sometimes inspiration just comes to me from nowhere. It has caused upset in people that have read it and i promise it’s not meant to cause offence. I’m just very proud of the way it came out!

If I Would Have Walked A Mile In Your Shoes...
by ieneke jansenDear Birth Mother If I would have walked a mile in your shoes… / I wonder if relinquishing my baby is what I’d choose / If I was so lo…
As an adopted child I also wondered everyday where my birth mother and father were. I had fantasies, dreams, nitemares…it never stopped. The long arduous journery to find her took 10 years but I kept a journal & wrote on most days. Some days I couldn’t deal with the anticipation or the wait or the what if’s and what if not! Is she alive still…too many emotions involved really. However, I did finally find her and she wasn’t far either. She was very sick with cancer though. Apparently she was sick for the previous 10 years and I was told by my birth brothers that she was waiting for me all this time … she passed away 3 months after I met her! I was very fortunate to get to know her for those few months and I have no regrets & recommend ‘finding’ your roots to anyone who is adopted. Although I am so blessed with having my parents who adopted me – it still does not fill the need, the want, the insatiable desire, the basic necessity to know where you came from.

The following letter was sent to Governor Schwarzenegger in defense of thousands of dogs being killed in the Los Angeles County Baldwin Park shelter, due to their No Free Release Policies towards rescues. It is a dogs-eye tale of life after the Burbank Hoarder, and the Baldwin Park Shelter, and a plea for mercy for those who have no life at all. The Governor never responded. Thousands more animals died while we waited, and are still dying, every day. Please adopt.
