A beautiful tabby long hair…named samantha….....another of my local Humane Society’s babies. She was dumped off in a box and malnureshed when we found her…she’s since been adopted by one of our local police officers and now has the run of a happy household. Not all our babies find homes that are good or even FIND one at ALL. We had one gorgeous animal that ended up being allergic to some of the med’s we had to use to cure him of his sickness. He didn’t make it. So it’s always nice to know when we have a good ending.

This is our sweet kitty, Hershey Kisses. I named her that because she loves to give kitty kisses and when I first found her she was the color of white chocolate. This photo was snapped on a whim, just as she was waking up from one of her many naps. —-—- Hershey has been entered into The Humane Society of the United States’ Spay Day USA Pet Photo Contest. Please vote for me! —-—- Ever since I was a child, animals have been my passion. My one real dream in life is to someday open my own animal sanctuary. As it is now, I only wish my home were as big as my heart. When I’m not caring for strays I’m working on designs for various animal rights issues. This photo is one example of something I have used on several products, including stamps, with the text “Save a life… adopt!” to promote pet adoption. Animals and their welfare are something I take very seriously; and in the past people have said it’s my religion. I can’t argue with that. / / —-—- / / _If you care about animals the way I do, please check out our new group Voices for Animals —-—- Cards – Best of the Best Category: Pets

Another one of my local shelters abandonies….. / This beautiful little torti-calico sweetie had her soul showing in her eyes. / She was luckily adopted with-in a week after this photo was taken. Sadly…......so many don’t get adopted. My cat that I have was adopted when he was 7 years old…and had been at the shelter for 2 years already. A note to people wanting to get rid of their animals? People don’t WANT to adopt adult animals…they don’t WANT responsibilities towards needy animals….they don’t WANT an animal that will only have a couple years left to live. / Keep your pet if you can…or help find it a HOME! Don’t abandon it…don’t foist it off on organizations that are already overwhelmed with adult animals. / and PLEASE PLEASE??? SPAY AND NEUTURE!! (u’r animals…as well as…....um….....)

A lovely scene on my couch. The white cat (brutus) nearly died of boredom. That’s when this little rascal (caesar) was dumped near our house. They somehow became close and to cut a long story short: THEY LIVED LONG AND HAPPILY everafter. Op het moment dat de oude bijna stierf van verveling (echt waar) kwam de kleine bij ons terecht en zoals je ziet perfect samen.

Mouse drawn on the computer. Clive Scottie Howls imploringly that people would adopt & not buy from breeders or Puppy mills. If you must have a puredbred Dog or Cat, they also end up at the pound, this is a wasteful & neglectful generation, if a person, even if they spent hundred’s of dollars on a fancy breed, & decide they don’t want the trouble, etc, out in the trash those poor Dogs & Cats go

This is Mayday….a rescue kitty that FINALLY was adopted from our local Humane Society…a no-kill shelter that is funded privately to help grown animals like Mayday find homes or to die in peace. / She was found out on a country road with half her side ripped out (she’s laying on it…) and barely even able to function anymore. / Thru lots of meds and rehab and tons of vet care she finally healed and is able to walk again on all four legs….... / She was adopted by an older couple who have the time and patience to help her rehabilitate and feel safe again. / PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!! / Spay and Neuter you’re pets! / Volunteer at u’r shelters! / and? if you can no longer care for you’re pet? FIND IT A HOME THAT CAN!

This is my dog Tater at about 4 months old, I adopted him from my local pet shelter, It was his last day to be adopted out before he was euthanized. He is part Basset Hound and possibly Lab??. He’s the best dog in the world! We love him to death! He now is weighing in at about 90 pounds. Also in this picture is Bella, as soon as Tater and Bella met they hit it off. Bella was given to me by a friend who didn’t have time for her. She was young and crazy just like all cats are when they are babies. I love her to death. I love all my animals and I highly believe in adopting pets from animal shelters, it’s the way to go!

A little kitten looking on with curious eyes… wondering when he’s going to a new home.

Her name is now Maggie May. She was a rescue living at the animal hospital where my sister works and her name was Mia. I don’t know what her story was before she came there, but eventually my aunt and uncle adopted her and named her Maggie May. / Apparently they ordered pizza one night and this box became her bed for weeks afterward! I thought the name Mia was more appropriate for this photo..LOL!

This is my cat Bella (right) and Wynne (pronounced Winnie, from Wynnewood Okla.) A lady at work was giving cats away and was having trouble getting people to take them, so of course I volunteered to take one. In this picture Wynne is only about 3-4 months old, and Bella and her were still trying to get to know each other, but it turns out that adopting Wynne has really helped Bella. Bella was always trying to cuddle with my big dog Tater, like she was lonely and ever since we got Wynne she hasn’t been as clingy to my Tater. All of my animals are either adopting from shelters, or been pets that were being given away…remember if you ever want a pet, to check out your local animal shelter! They need homes too!

This is my 12 year old puppy Mattie. Isn’t she beautiful? She is my life, she is my muse. I’m downloading many photos of Mattie in hopes of raising money. She recently passed away after fighting liver cancer. She fought the horrible disease for 2 months with chemotherapy, but in the end it took her life. The last chemo session, she looked at me and softly said she was tired. So, I took her home and made a bed on the floor for the 2 of us and I held her through the night until she passed away in my arms the next morning. She is missed every second of every day, but she will live on forever in the hearts of everyone she met and new. So every t-shirt and piece of artwork I sell will go to paying off her final $10,000 of doctor bills. I love you my perfect angel.
