Hey all, / Below are a list of easy keyboard commands for Photoshop. I’m using a regular PC (Windows) but if you use a mac, all of the controls will be different…and because I don’t have a Mac within reach, I can’t get the commands for that. Sorry Mac users! Control + N = Opening a New Canvas / Control + O = Opening a new project from a different file (such as a photo) / Control + Z = Undo very last action; nothing past that. / Control + Alt + Z = Undo past actions; infinite. / Control + Shift + Z = Redo an action (that is, if you have already undone an action.) / Control + Shift + F = Fade… (This is a VERY useful tool that I just discovered about 2 minutes ago…For example, you draw something a little too light…do this command then you can make the brush stroke’s opacity darker! Again, VERY useful!) / Control + X = Cut / Control + C = Copy / Control + V = Paste / Control + Shift + V = Paste Into (Don’t know exactly what this does for sure yet but, apparently it’s useful?) / Control + I = Invert (makes a negative [or positive] of the image selected) / Control + A = Selects the whole canvas / Control + Shift + D = Reselects the part that was once selected, then deselected. / Control + D = Deselects the canvas / Control + – = Zoom Out / Control + + = Zoom In And there’s plenty more but these are the basic necessary keyboard commands for Photoshop. -Brittany

  • How to do a T-shirt template...

Step 1… Get Template. Go to the Add a T-shirt Design and Click on the Highlighted T-shirt Template. A box will pop up for File Download. Click on Save and name your file (Save it to where you can find it). / Step 2… Open up your photoshop and find the Template and then decide what art you would like to put on a t-shirt. (I am only teaching you how to put a full page of art on a template as it is easier for us both). / Step 3.. You should have both the Template Opened up and the Art you want to Trasfer. Now resizing your art to fit on the Template. While on the Template… Go to Image (top right) then Resize and then Image Size. Once you are there you should see these image sizes… Top of page should say 22m… Next Row… width 2400 pixels.. Height… 3200 pixels… width 33.333 inches… Height 44.444 inches… and Resoulution will be 72 pixels/inches. Now you have the sizes and now you can make sure your art fits this size. It can be smaller but no larger than these sizes. / Step 4… Transfering art to the Template. After you have resized the art to fit on the template you now need to do a Select and then All (top left) after you do this you Click on Edit (top left) and then Copy. Now go to the template and do a Edit and then Paste. The art should be on the template now all you have to do is Go to Layers (top right) Now Click on the Template Layer on the small drop down then Click on Layer (top left) and then Click on Delete Layer. This gets rid of the RB grid. / Step 5… Now all you have to do is a Save As and rename the file. Also when you go to close the template and art do not save changes when closing template so you can reuse it again and again. You can also resize your art before closing or save it as the new size. / I hope this helps! If anyone would like to talk live for more assistance my IM address is hoffardart@hotmail.com Here are the direction with less words… / Transfer Template / Open Template / Open Art / Resize Art / Select – All / Edit – Copy (art) / Edit – paste (onto template) / Layers (click on Template Layer) – Layer – Delete Layer / Now File – Save As and Re Name Template / Do not save changes when you close the Template so that you can reuse. / On the art you can resize it or Save Changes when closing.

    a shirt for ADOBE Photoshop…

  • This Toyota concept vehicle was on display at the 2008 Melbourne International Motorshow. I went crazy with a flood filter and got rid of the people standing around it to create this image. The car is called the FT-H5 and is a hybrid electric concept, the car was also on display at the Chicago motorshow. Click here for my other photos of cars!

  • Ok so everyone is probably sick of all my flood filter photos but I’m having way too much fun! This is my girlfriend’s kitten Jaguar, this shot was taken in her backyard in autumn and I thought it would make for a good subject for a flood filter. Also changed the hue and saturation of her eyes in Photoshop, other minor changes such as slight cropping done in Lightroom.

  • So I know there’s gotta be other people out there excited about the release of the new Batman Movie The Dark Knight, or is it just me? This is a tribute to possibly one of my favourite movies! This is also one of my first really serious attempts at creating some digital artwork in Photoshop. This is the result of me having a lot of time, sitting at home sick when I should be at work. The question is can you see Batman?? For this I started off with one of my pics of Melbourne, Australia from Southbank which was a HDR from 3 exposures. I then added in bats, flood lights, batman, the moon etc. and then once again a lot of tinkering in Lightroom to finetune :) This image has had over 5000 views Sales 1 Mounted Print 1 Poster Click here for my other images of Melbourne

  • The convertible version of Ferrari’s F430 at the 2008 Melbourne International Motorshow. Colour selection and motion blur done in Photoshop, other minor adjustments done in Adobe Lightroom as always :) Taken with my old Canon 300D, one of my first expirements with motion blur… Enjoy! • Transparent Background in Drawings: How-To

I have been getting many e-mails asking about how I convert my drawings from paper to tee-shirts, with a transparent background. Here’s how I do it: I scan my drawings, then if needed, I clean them up by erasing extra marks and such. Then I use a photoshop action that can be downloaded here: Link This action is for Adobe photoshop only! How it works: this works only with black/white images (colored images will be automatically converted to b/w), and basically converts everything to black, but the lighter areas become various transparencies of black (this results in various shades of gray when viewed against any background). After you apply the action, you end up with two layers: background (white) and outlines (the drawing). I delete the background layer, and…ta-da!! If I choose to color the design, then I create another layer, and put it underneath the outlines layer, so that the color would go under the black outlines. Note: tweak your contrast and levels BEFORE applying the action, as you won’t be able to tweak anything afterward because your drawing will be technically all BLACK. I tried to explain this as best as I could, and hope this makes sense to everyone. / Feel free to ask any further questions!! Olga Here are some samples of my work where I used this process: 1st one is a pencil drawing, and the 2nd was drawn in pen. / / /

  • Photomanipulation See it in full-size on my portfolio here This creation is in no way meant to offend anyone. I’m not religious at all, but I was toying with this idea in my head and this is the final outcome. This art consists of over ten different photos merged together. All photos, except for the old man, belongs to me and have been photographed with a Nikon D100. On top of that alot of editing has been made such as the rays, the sea, clouds, waves, the hand with the flower. With that said, the stock-image of the old man can be found here. All credit for that goes to “skydancer-stock” at deviantArt. It’s quite modified though. Comments or critics are appreciated!
