  • I thought I had brainwave – a stroke of genius when I thought of this! I discovered later loads of people have had the same idea. Someone even goes by that name. Redbubble checked this design for any possible copyright infringment. / Redbubble gave this design the all clear and deemed it fine to upload and use. This is an original idea and piece of artwork. It clearly is a parody. It is also clear that it does not set out to or claim to be official merchandise in any way. • Transparent Background in Drawings: How-To

I have been getting many e-mails asking about how I convert my drawings from paper to tee-shirts, with a transparent background. Here’s how I do it: I scan my drawings, then if needed, I clean them up by erasing extra marks and such. Then I use a photoshop action that can be downloaded here: Link This action is for Adobe photoshop only! How it works: this works only with black/white images (colored images will be automatically converted to b/w), and basically converts everything to black, but the lighter areas become various transparencies of black (this results in various shades of gray when viewed against any background). After you apply the action, you end up with two layers: background (white) and outlines (the drawing). I delete the background layer, and…ta-da!! If I choose to color the design, then I create another layer, and put it underneath the outlines layer, so that the color would go under the black outlines. Note: tweak your contrast and levels BEFORE applying the action, as you won’t be able to tweak anything afterward because your drawing will be technically all BLACK. I tried to explain this as best as I could, and hope this makes sense to everyone. / Feel free to ask any further questions!! Olga Here are some samples of my work where I used this process: 1st one is a pencil drawing, and the 2nd was drawn in pen. / / /

  • Gotham City
    by Alistair Wilson

    US$4.32–US$98.80

So I know there’s gotta be other people out there excited about the release of the new Batman Movie The Dark Knight, or is it just me? This is a tribute to possibly one of my favourite movies! This is also one of my first really serious attempts at creating some digital artwork in Photoshop. This is the result of me having a lot of time, sitting at home sick when I should be at work. The question is can you see Batman?? For this I started off with one of my pics of Melbourne, Australia from Southbank which was a HDR from 3 exposures. I then added in bats, flood lights, batman, the moon etc. and then once again a lot of tinkering in Lightroom to finetune :) Click here for my other images of Melbourne

  • From the pueblos of Taos, New Mexico 12mm, F/7.1, 1/500 sec., ISO-100 / Hoya Polarizing Filter

  • Ok so everyone is probably sick of all my flood filter photos but I’m having way too much fun! This is my girlfriend’s kitten Jaguar, this shot was taken in her backyard in autumn and I thought it would make for a good subject for a flood filter. Also changed the hue and saturation of her eyes in Photoshop, other minor changes such as slight cropping done in Lightroom.

  • Toyota Concept
    by Alistair Wilson

    US$4.32–US$98.80

This Toyota concept vehicle was on display at the 2008 Melbourne International Motorshow. I went crazy with a flood filter and got rid of the people standing around it to create this image. The car is called the FT-H5 and is a hybrid electric concept, the car was also on display at the Chicago motorshow. Click here for my other photos of cars!

  • Here’s the original I did without the frame around it. I’m deleting the one with the frame around it.

    by Archan Nair

    US$4.99–US$114.00

  • An Osprey's Ocean
    by TrEaSuReDiMaGeS

    US$4.66–US$106.40

This was a photo I had taken over on Merritt Island, Florida of an Osprey. These are amazing and beautiful birds of prey!! The sky that day was very cloudy and washed out but it couldn’t dampen my enthusiasm for being able to see these magnificent birds in their natural habitat!! So I’ve taken the original shot and blended it onto another photo I had taken of a storm rolling in off the ocean as the sun was setting with Adobe PhotoShop. Best viewed enlarged. /

Hey all, / Below are a list of easy keyboard commands for Photoshop. I’m using a regular PC (Windows) but if you use a mac, all of the controls will be different…and because I don’t have a Mac within reach, I can’t get the commands for that. Sorry Mac users! Control + N = Opening a New Canvas / Control + O = Opening a new project from a different file (such as a photo) / Control + Z = Undo very last action; nothing past that. / Control + Alt + Z = Undo past actions; infinite. / Control + Shift + Z = Redo an action (that is, if you have already undone an action.) / Control + Shift + F = Fade… (This is a VERY useful tool that I just discovered about 2 minutes ago…For example, you draw something a little too light…do this command then you can make the brush stroke’s opacity darker! Again, VERY useful!) / Control + X = Cut / Control + C = Copy / Control + V = Paste / Control + Shift + V = Paste Into (Don’t know exactly what this does for sure yet but, apparently it’s useful?) / Control + I = Invert (makes a negative [or positive] of the image selected) / Control + A = Selects the whole canvas / Control + Shift + D = Reselects the part that was once selected, then deselected. / Control + D = Deselects the canvas / Control + – = Zoom Out / Control + + = Zoom In And there’s plenty more but these are the basic necessary keyboard commands for Photoshop. -Brittany

I’ve had several comments from people lately asking me how I have been processing some of my newest photos…. and since my ‘reply’ button is still broken I thought I would just put it all down in a journal….so here it is. I mainly use Adobe Lightroom to process all of my work and then I tidy stuff up in Photoshop Elements 4.0 You can download a 30 day free trial of “The Lightroom” if you follow the above link – definately worth checking out if you haven’t already. It will process both RAW and JPEG files. Last week I found out that there were presets available to download so I thought I’d give them ago. There are 3 main sites I have found which are really good. / They are: INSIDE LIGHTROOM Heather Green Photography (she lists lots of links) and Pro Photography Show who also list lots of great links. Of course you still need to play with the images even after applying a preset…but that’s where the fun begins. The presets I have used the most are: 2. Vintage I COL Dragon1 COL Hamburg’s Funky Twist Dream Matt’s Lomo Effect EFF XProcess Dragon They all came from those 3 websites listed above. Hope this has been helpful. Cheers to you all / Naomi. BTW…I’ve just passed 50000 views…WooHoo…now if only I could sell something…
