Recently I discovered this license at creativecommons.org : / This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 License. You’ll notice I’ve started adding it to my work, but suddenly thought to ask this question: Is it acceptable/appropriate/other to add this to our work – or does its implications contravene the agreement between RB and registered Artists? Please advise. I’m sure many would like your take on this situation.

Hey guys at redbubble admin, you’re doing a great job, and I’m very happy with the new updates and additions to the site! Would like to see ‘larger prints available’ button where serious buyers can get their 1m plus sizes and coat large walls with our stuff! I have produced and seen my work in 1m x 1.5m prints and they look fantastic! Especially in new homes. I’m glad we can attract overseas buyers as well. Great to see you are working well to streamline an already great company. Good Work! John.

This is the admin block of the abandoned mental asylum, they just dont get better than this in my opinion. The architect really should be commended for this one, such an excellent piece of work for a functional building. It does look straight out of a horror movie with its windows all broken etc! Personally Offensive Art / Anti-War, Pro-War You can scream war and watch a roomful of people hit the deck while a city block raises their fists in salute to your call to arms. You can scream fire and a city of people will come to your aid while only a handful of people tuck tail and run, absolved of responsibility. You can scream rape and the nation will mourn with you. Terrorism and we all grit our teeth. Evil and we pray… Pedophile – execute Capitol punishment / Let them live Human rights / Nazi regime Not to mention a very long list of vilifying words and their reactions to follow so long I would crash RedBubble’s servers trying to upload them. As a nation we have developed the idea that being aware of stereotypes and dangers and race issues will help us to be more sensitive to it and ensure that we will not offend anyone who falls into one of these categories. This is wrong… I grew up in Cornwall and a friend of mine from a different province came to see me. He had no idea that racial tension between the Indians (North American Aboriginals for those of you about to freak out about the word Indian). I of course was the ever present walking-talking-encyclopedia that had to ensure he was informed. Because I told him about the racial tensions he stammered, stuttered and made an ass of himself when he met one of my Indian buddies. It took me half an hour to talk them out of kicking his face in. He had no idea there was a problem until I told him there was…so… To you OVER-CHRISTIANIZED-NAZI-FUNDAMENTALIST-IDIOTS on RedBubble going around trying to tell people there’s a problem with their art and making the admins take it down, I have this to tell you. I don’t care what color you are, how old you are, what language you speak or what deity you believe in…if you try to tell people how to live, you are evil. If you think you have the only right answer, you are stupid. If you get a single piece of my artwork banned or another piece of art from a single person I know on this network again, I will personally hack your IP addresses and hand them out to a few hackers I know who delight in deleting people’s RRSPs, bank account, credit cards and putting out warrants for their arrest – erasing the fact they even exist once they’ve been put in jail so that they get lost in the system and then publish a list of your names and home addresses through an anonymous friend of mine on 4Chan so they can see if yoru families get the joke you missed. . . . . . . /

I haven’t had chance to venture far from my computer this week due to a backlog of RAW file processing and general photography admin. In fact the only pictures I have taken were of trees and branches in the neighbour’s farm! / / OK I suppose, but not that inspiring… Despite this I have achieved something essential to my photography – upgrading my backup system. Now, how many people out there actually get around to backing up their image files? Not that many I bet – mainly because it takes time and lots of CDs/DVDs. My approach does away with removable media and any of the manual steps, relying instead on a number of external hard disk drives and a simple batch file. I won’t bore you with the details here, but it wasn’t difficult to set up an automatic backup of any new or changed files every time the PC starts and it didn’t actually cost that much (external drives are now so cheap I have added 1TB of storage for £90). Based on my current image production rate I estimate that the extra TB will probably last about 1 year, so in 12 months I’ll just buy another disk by which time they’ll probably only be £20 each! If you haven’t backed up your files already, maybe it’s time to do so…

It happened out of a conversation about administrators upon our Redbubble group, and was quite unexpected … yet I am glad to take on the role! Therefore: If you are a registered member on Facebook AND a Member of Adelaide/SA on Redbubble, / I encourage you to join Redbubble Adelaide/SA on Facebook ! / Then you can publicise your Redbubble gallery ! Consequently I’m now looking for FIVE new Admin’s to join me on both Redbubble and Facebook. I need your help to… / ... [1] regularly moderate artwork submitted on Redbubble; / ... [2] help run the existing roles upon Redbubble that have lain dormant for the last six months; / ... [3] choose from members submissions for a new photo image to represent the Facebook group; / ... [4] help think of great ways to publicise, market, and promote our artists upon both Facebook and Redbubble; / ... [5] and readily take on new duties as they arise! Jo is of course still here, as is Grant and Hop. Sadly, David L. left and is nowhere to be found. I still miss the guy. I didn’t know Bridgett well, she wasn’t around too long, and Kathleen still hangs around, but she was an honorary Admin back when things were simple. Pilgrim had been interviewed 4^1000 times, Peter was more of an interviewer than the other way around, OneTon was too clever and would have made me look stupid, and Paul was hard to get a hold of… Now that there are some new Admins, I am hoping to snag a little of their time and add to all of our understandings of what… who make this Bubble tick.
