Woodcraft Store at Oatlands, Tasmania. The sandstone building was originally a corner store and residence dating from the 1840’s. There are more recent additions at the rear. The footpath along the side of the road was cut from the in-situ sandtsone.

During the process of taking photos for a local builder, I captured photos of a very unique item in an addition he had built. When the workers were digging, they stumbled upon this 42 foot well right where the addition was to be. “Now what?!” There were several ideas thrown around, and the one that was decided upon was to build up an outside several feet off the floor of the room, creating the appearance of an old stone well. A bucket was hung on an old wooden beam, a light installed down below, and a thick plate of glass placed on the top. And now the client has a beautiful ‘table’ in their new addition! They actually place food on it when they have parties. It was a real challenge to take a good picture down through the glass because of the reflection, but after playing with my settings for quite some time and leaning on the glass, I ended up with this photo. What a beautiful old well!

This cockatiel was found it the middle of a busy street, hopping around terrified between moving cars. He was saved by a good hearted young man and taken to the local animal shelter where he waited for 4 days for his owner to claim him. No one did. / The bird is between 1 and 30 years old. He has severely deformed feet – looks like a congenital defect. His right wing is clipped. / Having deformed feet and clipped wing this bird was made completely defenseless by a cruel human being(s). He can barely walk and can’t fly! / I decided to foster this poor bird for a few days and took him home with me. I think I will permanently adopt him and he will be a new addition to my flock. He is a cutie with a unique personality :) In 2009 all profits from sales will go to The Lincoln County Humane Society serving needy animals in The Niagara Region in Ontario, Canada

This is an image from 1997 when I was in photography school. I did a series on food additives that come from animals. Food additive 120 is derived from the bodies of a particular dried and crushed female beatle. Taken with a pentax K1000 and probably using Agfa 100 asa film. Red paper typed on by a typewriter, very old school! Just adding this to add to my folio and to trace my time using photography.

My newest puppy! he desperately needed a home so after much thought and consideration and spending some time with him I decided to take him. he’s a 4 year old shytzu ( can’t spell it right now lol) He’s very mellow and a true sweetheart. I’m still really sick with a bad lung infection and struggling to stay awake for more than 30 mins at a time, and conducting business so i haven’t been on as much as I would like. I have a shoot booked for saturday so planning on sleeping as much as i can before then. fingers crossed that the antibiotics work. / love you all / huggles
